I spent some time in Southern Arizona visiting family for a few days. I didn't have too much time to shoot, but did manage to get a nice sunset in Tucson at Gates Pass, right next to Saguaro NP.
Another fairly typical west of Scotland sunset. Isn't that sky glorious - even with the jet con-trails and the foreground weeds? In fact I used a short focal length of 25mm to get as much of the sky in the frame as I could, and weak fill-in flash to enhance the effect of the yellow flowers. Taken at the north Ayrshire hamlet of Portencross. The sun is setting behind the Firth of Clyde island of Wee Cumbrae. Big Cumbrae is on the right and you can just see Bute in the distance.
- www.kevin-palmer.com - I could tell there was going to be a good sunset so I went to the rest area on a small hill overlooking Sheridan. The colors did not disappoint and I was able to shoot a time lapse.

Windsor, Ontario, Canada and the Ambassador Bridge seen during sunset from River Walk, Detroit River, Detroit, Michigan USA
Kathy and I went hiking last week in the Eastern Sierra Nevada's. It was great. Rock Creek, Sabrina Lake and South Lake.
I added up the total of three three hikes and got 25 miles with a mile of up and down. A fair amount of snow still on the trails and all the lakes were frozen over. Absolutely beautiful.
I took lots of pictures but I failed to capture the strange beauty of the frozen lakes and snow covered mountains. We had afternoon clouds and small rain showers with some thunderstorms.
This picture was near North Lake. I wasn't able to get a foreground that worked well but this one was close. I normally need to visit a spot several times to get things composed.
Cheers.
I was on holiday in Fethiye Turkey. From the terrace of our hotel we saw this beautiful sunset every evening.
This is what the sky looked like just after the sun had set this evening. Actually, the red was more intense and even redder than the photo shows. It was gorgeous, but it didn't extend very far up or to the south.
This was shot from a terrace in Astoria. The building intruding in the lower left is in that Queens neighborhood.
I had to crop this quite a bit, unfortunately. Next time, I'll keep a longer lens nearby. I also replaced the photo after reducing the noise a bit.
This image was captured purely by chance as the day had been spent elsewhere.
