A combination of a beautiful sunset and the tail-end of a cyclone produced this dramatic scene at Cairns Esplanade.
Un très coloré couchet de soleil à Callelongues (Marseille).
A colorful sunset on the sea at Callelongues (Marseille).
Living one day at a time is all we can do and stopping to observe nature's gifts be it a sunset, a rose, changing leaves, a child's face all keep us grounded. We collect these little treasures of time in memories and photos and then whoosh let them go at the end like those Buddists monks and there sand paintings. This was on the Pacific Coast in Santa Cruz California and if you get there be sure to up West Cliff Drive to watch the surfers, see the jagged cliffs and smell the sea breeze. Take your kids to the beach at Natural Bridges and if you have time take the drive up Highway 1 to Davenport, and all the little place to hike before you get to Half Moon Bay and San Francisco. Ahhhh so sweet.
Taken on my evening walk through my neighborhood in New Port Richey, Florida, Jan. 08. Made EXPLORE Jan 9, 2008, # 269. Never got to see It.
This photograph was made from Mt. Sinai Hospital. I silhouetted the buildings to highlight the intense color of the sunset and also hoping to minimize the dirt and smudge of the hospital room's window. I hope you all enjoy.

Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

With the news of clouds of volcanic ash drifting across the UK from Iceland and weather reports saying that we are in for some colourful sunsets I just had to get out with the camera.
Sadly the tide was low so it was necessary to wade out ankle deep in thick mud at Dell Quay, West Sussex to find some water, difficult conditions with the tripod sinking in the mud but it was well worth the effort with amazing red glows in the sky after the sun had dropped below the horizon.
Nice for photography but bad news for commuters stranded at all airports in UK due to all flights being cancelled due to potential problems of the ash damaging the aircraft engines!
30 second long exposure using B+W 6 stop ND filter + Lee 0.9 ND grad filter over the sky with a sinking tripod!
Thanks for any comments you may wish to leave.

Another Tiskilwa, Illinois sunset. I have nearly a thousand sunset images taken from my yard in rural northern Illinois. Sometimes I wish there was an ocean in front yard, but at least there are lines of trees surrounding the cornfield across the road.

i must say that i am very pleased whit this shot, i had a lot of luck when this was taken, first of all it was calm so the mirroring effect is almost perfect, second the clouds are so different, both in color , shape and direction ,creates a nice diversity and third, the sunset, now that the fall is coming u have to be quick, the sun sets very fast,
