I'm not a huge fan of palm trees but sometimes they make nice scenes.
Taken in Santa Barbara, California.
After a futile attempt to get a sunset shot of NS #145 west of Decatur, I had to "settle" for this magnificent sunset shot.
Cause it's a beautiful day. It's a beautiful sunrise. Well I don't want to see you cry. But I can take away your pain, the feelings just the same. But I can't stand to see you cry.

I've been hanging out at Rooster Rock in the evenings this week just beating the heat, not really expecting much in the way of sunsets, but tonight's sky to the west had some nice cirrus clouds and an unexpected gap in the sky below the horizon that lit things up.
This was one of those in-camera multiple exposure shots with the camera set to auto average... I think i did six images, each at 8 sec. for a total of 48 sec. With noise reduction on and time spent checking each exposure before releasing the shutter again, this stretched out the elapsed cloud movement to probably over two minutes. Normally this can cause some stuttering of the cloud pattern with the delay between exposures, but the softer cirrus clouds seemed to have negated that effect. It's also interesting how the colors changed on this shot compared to some of the regular short exposures. I lost some of the blues and nice details in the sky but was able to smooth out the water better and give a softer look to the sunset.

A few days ago my brother-in-law was taken ill and was operated immediately upon arrival to the hospital.
He has been released now and is convalescing at home.
We often take life and good health for granted until something drastic happens and shakes us to being aware of our mortality.

Burj Khalifa, Dubai on a hazy evening. Though haze is a bit of a nuisance, it actually adds a nice gradation to the skyline, especially during the golden hours & in a wide frame.
btw this is the first time I am roof-topping & had an interesting experience :)
Note: though it seems slightly tilted to the right, it might be because of the structure/angle of burj khalifa since there's a big cut in the middle & so upper half seems tilted, but actually it is straight (grid).

Sunset I saw while driving around in ontario, near Ottawa. I particularly like the cow posing for the picture.. :)
I remember arriving at Denali NP after spending weeks up North. I didn't like it one bit. To crowded for my taste. I kept on driving and ended up at HWY 8 aka the Denali highway. I decided to camp out there. I got rewarded with this amazing sunset. Ironically most people in the NP missed this 'cause you can't see Denali from the village.
Last nights sunset just along the road from home. I had intended to go out and experiment with welding glass, but that failed and this arrived instead :o)
