I had this lovely sun catcher in New Mexico and it sure caught a lot of sun there. We used to get 325 days of sun every year. Living in the Finger Lakes is so different, we get around 155 days a year, quite a change!

This heart-shaped suncatcher has been made from two different thicknesses of steel wire, and a mixture of beads in varying translucent rainbow shades. There's quite a variety - some are plain, some have patterns, some are tiny, some are large, some are little leaf shapes. These beads make a rainbow on their way from left to right. Most of them are made of glass, but the large yellow one in the centre is plastic.
This large heart suncatcher measures 10cm (just under 4") long from the top of its hanging loop to its base, and is approximately 13.5cm (just over 5") wide. Hang it by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home that needs brightening up.

A St Andrews Cross spider in my garden at sunset. Its not the same one who was probably tramatized yesterday when I pulled part of its web down and removed its dragonfly dinner.(by the way his web is back and fully laden with fat juicy bugs)

ODC-Old But Gold
This rock sample of Herkimer Diamonds was given to me by my friend Anne gave this to me about 32 years ago. The rock itself is millions of years old.
I created this mosaic tile with polymer clay on a clear acrylic base. I added glass gems, charms, crystals, mirror tiles and an old piece of jewelry. :) I've posted another photo that shows how the light shines through the two largest gems. It measures 4" square.
Today was about photographing something that made you cheerful, without worrying about the "rules" associated with photography. This photo isn't perfect in many ways, the screen in the window making the background look odd for one, but the suncatchers are bright and cheery on a cold winter day! Be a rainbow...
I was able to hop over to one of my favorite dragonfly hunting grounds tonight as the sun was setting. I'm always glad to find these over there and when the sun catches them just right it lights up the wings in a way that really makes them special. (shot handheld, no flash)
