window view

This suncatcher was made using tinted liquid clay. I first made the outlines on a piece of glass with silver clay then filled in with the liquid clay.

Here is another view without the sun behind it. You can see the colors and lines a lot better.

Apparently some greens bleed a little too. Especially if yellow is their neighbor.

A souvenir from Canterbury Cathedral

I did this design not long ago--it sold so I've done another.

Two shades of amber Waterglass for the center leaves along with dark amber glue chip glass for the background and very dark brown textured glass for the border.

Measures 13 3/4 inches diameter, nearly 35cm.

Same piece in both photos with different amounts of back light.

Imaginary friends.

I made the main star shape in this sculptural suncatcher from 1.2mm thick galvanised steel wire. Within this star, there is a mixture of purple glass beads, on steel wire approximately 0.6mm thick. This suncatcher measures 16cm (just over 6") from the tip of the hanging loop to the base, and 14.5cm (just under 6") at the widest point of the star itself. This star could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add a little colourful, quirky style.

Rainbow Glass on Glass Mosaic with Vintage wirepull marbles and antique/modern glass, 30 x 13.5 cm including Vintage wooden frame. The marbles go through the entire rainbow. The Wirepull marbles are about 50 years old and come from my husband's marble collection. The glass includes textured glass as well as many pieces of vintage glass. The colours of the glass and the colours of the marbles match up throughout.

This mosaic has an intricate vintage wooden frame which is painted gold. It is grouted in dark grey.

Driftwood art for a cabin, patio, or porch. Can be hung in a window or on a wall - or can be used as a hanging mobile or a suncatcher. 6" wide makes for a cute piece of art.

Just a quick suncatcher as a present to a friend who gave me the leaf shaped pieces from a broken lamp. I say quick . it took 2 weeks for the glue to dry clear on those leaf bits!!!!!

Plexi glass circle, plasticy leafs and centre flower, mille, and glass tiles.

This Swarovski crystal suncatcher has been hanging in my car since it was given to me by a Flickr friend a few years ago. When the sun shines brightly, it sparkles.

may all your days be filled with sunshine and happiness....but please turn the heat down just a bit!

the second sun, the first sun is not done. this one measures 8 3/4 inches diameter, just over 22cm.

A staue outside Questacon, Canberra.I tried to get a photo of the sun coming through the circle in he hand but it was too high at the time so this was the alternative.

This place is a wonderful place to take the kids .

ODC-Old But Gold

I dug up this antique jar in an old homestead dump on Manitoulin Island, Ontario back in the late 1970s.

George Weyman opened a tobacco shop in Pittsburgh in 1822. He was the inventor of “Copenhagen” snuff. The company became Weyman & Bros. in 1870, so your jar was probably made before then. There were several changes in name and ownership until it became the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. in 2001. That company is still in business. Your Weyman’s Snuff jar is worth about $25. www.kovels.com/collectors-questions/weymans-snuff-jar

maybe if i build something in its honor it will not send so much heat here.

Oana www.flickr.com/photos/oana-emilia/ challenged me to another 5 days of black and white photos, I accepted today! Thought I'd give it another go since it's a new year! This is my wind chime, well what's left of it, the sun and wind all but destroyed it. The bottom with the chimes is totally gone, but the top seems to be hanging in for now.

Just like pearls.

For those who are interested, these are Suncatcher Eyes.

This is the Japanese flower pattern that lots of the girls have been making of late... I think I found it first on Elizabeth Cat's stream...

I thought I'd make something a bit different with my flower...
