this suncatcher belonged to my grandmother. she recently passed away, and i brought it home as a memento.
every time i open the blind in the morning and see this pretty green bird, i say a little hello to my nan. i miss her very much.
Using pliers for the tight bends and my fingers for the curves, I shaped the length of wire to roughly match my drawing.

I made this suncatcher last night. It took me hours because I've never done anything like this before. I'm really pleased with how it turned out too. This one is a prototype which we will keep. The next one I make will be a Christmas present for my MIL.
The tigerseye beads are from a bracelet that I had years ago that had broken. The green glass and the little crystals at the bottom have been attached using green florist's wire. I've had the crystals for years but they were just sitting in a box for the last year. The large green glass piece in the middle has the word "Trust" etched on it. It's from a $2 shop. The rest of the beads and the string I bought at the local bead shop.
