I created this mosaic tile with polymer clay on a clear acrylic base. I added glass gems, charms, crystals, mirror tiles and an old piece of jewelry. :) Here I show how the light shines through the two largest gems. It measures 4" square.

I can't keep these in the house. They keep disappearing on me...

The Soulard Market is obviously full of fruits, vegetables, meats, spices and a wide assortment of food products. But like any complete market, they have for sale a plethera of goods. From flowers to sunglasses, knitted caps to photographs, and then they have these suncatchers.

Being indoors, I am not sure the sun was the only light they were catching, but I know one thing that they did catch - my attention. After going through all my shots for the day. I think this is one of my favorites for a lot of reasons. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work. =)

I made my friend, Rob, this sun-catcher a while ago & I forgot to take a photo of it but Rob was good enough to send me one to show you all...

I have been finding bits of time to do a little crochet for Christmas & this is what I'ver been making....

this is the first one all finished - more 2 finish so more 2 come...

Who made Christmas less than 2 weeks away???... SCARY stuff...

Thought I would show you a full size photo of my yellow SunCatcher - which has found a new home. I do believe it is my fav so far... I just love the colour & all the crystals that adorn it... the pattern was really easy to follow too...

sometimes you get lucky, that dawn I felt lucky:)) bit of a sandbank, the low tide pounding inward to fill the dip, and just about 30 seconds to get in the low pov right spot.

Not going to ask you to picture the mad dash in the softer sand to get that far up beach in time. It wasn't pretty:)))

This is another microwave turntable I made decorated with broken wine bottles and vases. In case you're curious, it's resting on my window ledge with a couple of pieces of sticky putty sticking it to the window. It was the only way I could figure out how to display them in my window.

Its been a while since I posted any work here....

Recently completed piece featuring a tulip motif in a geometric setting. This round suncatcher panel measures 14 1/4 inches diameter, just over 36 cm.

Dense red and yellow glass for the flowers along with streaky hunter and emerald for the leaves. The center piece is a star shaped bevel along with additional bevels in the clear textured glass border.

Just playing with glass one afternoon...

This is done on a 14" microwave platter.

Used a stained glass pattern made for suncatchers on these. I wish I could have used a glace icing as the royal icing is too dull, especially for something that is supposed to shine. I seem to have decorating issues with the glace especially with wet on wet technique.

During the week I went through the photos I had of the SunCatchers I had made while in New Zealand. I really loved this pattern [something I made up myself as I didn't have many patterns with me] so thought I would give it ago again...

For something different I decided to sew the Aurora Borealis Swarovski crystals in between the rows of chains... The crystals reflect a wonderful Rainbow with the sun shining through the catcher...

I do really love it & so did someone else & it went before it had time to get cool... <3

Only one day left yay!!

Despite this I was so unisnspired when I got in from work this evening (and very tired!) and spent ages walking around my house seeing what I could do for ODC inside.

I settled on a suncatcher on my daughter's bedroom window. I am a sucker for bokeh as you probably know ;-) The only snag was when I uploaded I was mortified at how dirty the window's look (shame on me!) so I have added a very subtle texture to the background to tone down the dust!!

Another angle on the flowerheads catching the last rays of the sun

I've always used grey glass for dolphins, for this version I had decided to use both steel blue and grey for their bodies. The eyes are balls of solder that have been tacked on.

This view is with a bit more sun behind it, the glass colors appear brighter.

Measures at 16 inches wide by 13 1/8 inches tall, appx 40.5cm by 33.5cm.

I loved the way the sun hit this blue orb.

This is an old Cd that I covered with clay. I drilled a hole in the top then added jewelry wire with a few beads. I sell them as suncatchers.

I shot through a suncatcher hanging in the window to focus on the screen outside. I love the color and distortion. Next, I need to get a life!

I love this Hummingbird garden ornament. It's very durable and made of metal except for the crystals of course which is good because the New Mexico sun has destroyed a few of the others I had. The Hummingbird photo is a hologram and the picture changes as it spins in the wind.
