Sketchbook work and suncatchers, all done on holiday in Somerset. The suncatchers were in fact made entirely from materials bought on holiday, including beads bought from a rather lovely bead shop in Cheddar.

Stained glass shards, , milli, half glass gems on a recycled terrarium lid.

I created this little bat-shaped suncatcher from steel wire and a mixture of beads. She has two red heart-shaped cloisonné beads for eyes, while her wings and body are adorned with a mixture of red and orange glass beads. Cherry has a wingspan of 14cm (5.5"), and measures between 7cm and 3" from the top of her ears to her bottom.

A loop of red ribbon loops between Cherry's ears, allowing her to be displayed wherever you like in your home - by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any little nook to add a little colour and quirky style.

Thank you for taking the time to view this mini bat.

I created this little bat-shaped suncatcher from steel wire and an eclectic mixture of beads. She has two heart-shaped, multi-faceted, clear plastic beads for eyes, repurposed from a piece of thrifted jewellery, while her wings and body are adorned with a mixture of glass beads in various shades of green. Olive has a wingspan of 14cm (5.5"), and measures 7cm (just under 3") from the top of her ears to her bottom.

Funny, I was looking at my flickr archive and noticed the Suncatcher photo from one year ago, so I just raised the camera out my window for the 2006 version!

I have this suncatcher in 1:1 and made a 1:12 copy of it.

butterfly tile suncatcher

Bazillions of fiery orange mirror bits, gold, yellow, reds and green cover both sides of the pumpkin. It's 8" across, 6" deep.

I made this bat-shaped suncatcher from steel wire and a mixture of glass beads in various translucent shades of blue and aqua. It has a wingspan of 21.5cm (just over 8"), and measures 5.5cm (just over 2") from the top of the head to its bottom. It hangs from a loop of dark blue ribbon, which loops through the top of its head.

You could hang this suncatcher by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, handmade style. It would also make a stylish addition to your Halloween decorations, or you could perhaps give it to a bat fan for their birthday.

These 3-D Tree Of Life Agate Slabs look great as a suncatcher hanging on the porch, over a window, on the wall or adorning your favorite shelf. You can even place a tealight candle (preferably the flameless flicker effect kind) on the back of the stand, dim the lights some and you have a marvelously mysterious effect!

I created this beaded suncatcher from steel wire (wire which has a much warmer, golden tone than is normally seen in steel) and glass beads. These beads, with which her wings are decorated, come in varying shades of turquoise and red.

The lower wings of this butterfly curve into a point at the ends. Between these two points, this suncatcher measures 18cm (7") wide. From the tops of its wings to the bottom, it measures 14cm (5.5") high. A loop of clear plastic thread is tied through a loop between her curled antennae, allowing her to be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add a little colourful, quirky style.

This suncatcher was created for the UK Etsy Challenge group on Flickr. The theme for March is "Red and turquoise". Visit www.flickr.com/groups/uketsychallenge/ for more entries to the Challenge.

I made this star-shaped beaded suncatcher using annealed copper wire and an eclectic mixture of red glass beads. It hangs from a long loop of red ribbon, and measures 16.5cm (6.5") wide, and 16cm (just over 6") high.

It could be hung on your by a window to catch the light, or displayed in any corner of your home to add colour and interest. It would also look very pretty as part of your Christmas decorations.

Thank you for taking the time to view this star.

I got this when I was in Aus. Hung in my window, taken around dusk with light from my room reflecting and creating dual mirror images in the double glazing. I like the effect personally.

Would love comments on it.

This was one of my most popular hand-crafted suncatchers when I sold stained glass. The particular version was custom made by hand for me. Because they were hand-made, no 2 were exactly alike.

Arista Premium 400 film stand developed in Rodinal at 1:100 concentration for 60 minutes with 30 seconds of inversions at the start and then 5 inversions at the 30 minute mark.

The choice to stand-develop was a total goof on my part. I thought the camera was loaded with Fomapan 100 that I accidentally shot at EI400. I was really surprised it was Arista 400 when I looked at the developed negatives. I was even more surprised that they came out nice!
