These 3-D Tree Of Life Agate Slabs look great as a suncatcher hanging on the porch, over a window, on the wall or adorning your favorite shelf. You can even place a tealight candle (preferably the flameless flicker effect kind) on the back of the stand, dim the lights some and you have a marvelously mysterious effect!
This sculptural beaded suncatcher features three hearts in gradually decreasing sizes, the largest of which also has a large heart-shaped bead hanging from it. I created this piece from copper wire and an eclectic mixture of purple glass beads. I've also used steel chain repurposed from a necklace, and a ring repurposed from a keyring (which I have passed through a flame to give it a similar golden colour to that of the chain).
This suncatcher measures 33cm (13") long from the top of the hanging loop to its bottom, and 9.5cm (just under 4") at its widest part. It could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, handmade style.
Thank you for taking the time to view this suncatcher.
I got a few smaller projects knocked out this week~~I sorted through a pile of patterns and picked from the ones that I already had drawn up and ready to go.
The red and green glass used for the cherries and leaves are both of a wavy texture called Waterglass, the branch is a streaky brown glass and the background is a clear glass called Seedy~I picked this clear to give the appearance of a light drizzle coming down on the fruity goodness.
Measures at 8 1/4 inches diameter, about 21cm.
Daniel Buren(b. 1938, Paris, France)
Suncatcher, 2013
Powder-coated steel, glass, vinyl
Courtesy of the artist and Bortolami Gallery, NYSince the 1960s, conceptual artist Daniel Buren has explored the nature of painting and its relationship to space through the use of simple patterns such as contrasting stripes and color grids. For City Hall Park, Buren has taken the idea of a pergola—a garden trellis traditionally used for hanging flowers—and transformed it into a pavilion of light. When sunny, the colored glass panels bathe visitors in vivid color, expanding the field of painting to the glow of light itself.
I created this linear beaded hanging from steel wire (wire which has a much warmer, golden tone than is normally seen in steel) and an eclectic mixture of glass beads. These brightly-coloured beads have been arranged in the colours of the rainbow, going downwards from red to purple. The beads loop together with repurposed chain and twists of wire, and there are also three wire hearts along the length of this piece. The hanging loop of this suncatcher is a ring repurposed from a keyring, which I have passed through a flame to give it a similar golden colour to that of the wire and chain.
This suncatcher measures 52cm (20.5") long. It could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, colourful handmade style.
Thank you for taking the time to view this piece.

This was the view from my computer desk on May 10, 2022--my pink dogwood suncatcher backed by my blooming crabapple tree. What an inspiring sight in the morning sunlight! Stay tuned! I'm going on vacation & will be putting up several photos today.
Here's a neat way to truly brighten up your home with gorgeous art. These suncatchers have a lovely glow when the sun lights them up, and they also make you happy on a cloudy day.
My Mandala Suncatchers feature my original designs. These designs started out as paintings on vinyl records. Digital photos of the paintings are printed onto transparent decal material and affixed to an upcycled clear plastic c.d. I then drill a hole through the disk and attach a suction cup on a hook so it's easy to hang it in the window and let the sun shine in!
In the pictures you can see what they look like hanging in a window with the sky as background. I love how the shadows of the clouds can be seen through the mandalas.
Payton and Andrew make suncatchers. Andre made a heart and Payton made a flower.

Made a sun-catcher for my bedroom today. :)
Mini-suction cups, crystal beads, embroidery thread, and sunshine.
I made this star-shaped beaded suncatcher using steel wire and an eclectic mixture of green glass beads. It hangs from dark green ribbon, and measures 16.5cm (6.5") wide, and 16cm (just over 6") high.
It could be hung on your by a window to catch the light, or displayed anywhere to add colour and interest to any plain corner of your home. It would also look very pretty as part of your Christmas decorations.
Thank you for taking the time to view this star.
Suncatcher made of of reclaimed barn siding and stained glass scraps from a nearby stained glass shop. The stand is made from a section of a former awning post made of yellow pine. The green paint is the paint that was on the post when it was harvested from a house in South Buffalo NY.

I made this bat-shaped suncatcher from copper wire and a mixture of glass beads in shades of emerald green. There is also one teal-coloured, star-shaped bead in her belly. She has a wingspan of 20cm (just under 8"), and measures 5cm (2") from the top of her head to her bottom. She hangs from a 7cm (just under 3") long loop of plastic thread, which is tied through a loop at the top of her head.
Esmeralda likes hanging around on trees (she's hung on one of my tree sculptures here), but she what she would really love would be to hang around in your house. You could hang this suncatcher by a window to catch the sunlight, or perhaps give her to a bat fan for their birthday. You could even plan early for Halloween early and store her with the rest of your decorations.

I met Chelsea at the Brazee Street Studios on Friday afternoon, as she was setting up for the opening of the Glass Rainbow Project. She told me about the project; she is an artist and works at Brazee part-time.
I took pictures of the glass suncatchers and then asked if I could take her picture, too. She said sure, but said she got a little nervous when her picture was taken. I asked her to stand in front of the glass rainbow and just keep talking, because she's very vivacious and talks with her hands - I like the way the picture turned out: it captures some of the color and fun -
Chelsea, thanks for letting me take your picture!

The center of this piece is a large amber glass glob. The purple is deep and rich. I really like these colors together.
this is what can happen when you find 20 or so feet of copper wire in the bottom of the supply drawer :)
The rectangles and square used in this small, abstract panel allows a brilliance of light to reflect its colors into any area in which it is placed.
The colors used are orange, blue and clear textured glass. Lead free solder was used in its construction. This panel is 5 1/2" long and 4 1/4" wide (excluding the chain) and has a 10" chain ready to hang.
