Pink stained glass butterfly. I used 4 pieces of pink colored glass and 2 pieces of textured clear glass for hte wings. Non lead body was soldered to wings using the copper foil technique and polished until it shines.

This suncatcher has been made from steel wire, dark, smoky grey glass beads and grey plastic skully beads. It measures 10cm (4") high by 11cm (just over 4") wide, and hangs from a 6.5cm (2.5") loop of black ribbon.
It could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add a little quirky gothic style.
Thank you for taking the time to view this heart.
I found a dead cedar tree in the woods, cut off the limbs and after drying, I've been making sun catchers with paracord and glass ornaments. Won't rot outdoors.

These 3-D Tree Of Life Agate Slabs look great as a suncatcher hanging on the porch, over a window, on the wall or adorning your favorite shelf. You can even place a tealight candle (preferably the flameless flicker effect kind) on the back of the stand, dim the lights some and you have a marvelously mysterious effect!
30 second video of the giant suncatcher at Hungry Holler Art Refuge in northeast Oklahoma. It's 15-1/2 feet long, weighs roughly 100 pounds and is composed of a bazillion individual bits of mirror and glass. I started it September 2012. Had some delays and finally finished in late July 2013. It can be seen on Highway 20 between Langley and Jay, OK.
One of the rare days in Winter that we had sun and I got this and rainbows all over the room.. It's beautiful to see...
I made this bat-shaped suncatcher from steel wire and a mixture of glass beads in various translucent shades of blue and aqua. It has a wingspan of 21.5cm (just over 8"), and measures 5.5cm (just over 2") from the top of the head to its bottom. It hangs from a loop of dark blue ribbon, which loops through the top of its head.
You could hang this suncatcher by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, handmade style. It would also make a stylish addition to your Halloween decorations, or you could perhaps give it to a bat fan for their birthday.

I created this little bat-shaped suncatcher from steel wire and a mixture of beads and charms. She has two repurposed heart-shaped charms for eyes, while her wings and body are adorned with an eclectic mixture of purple glass beads. Violet has a wingspan of 14cm (5.5"), and measures between 7cm and 3" from the top of her ears to her bottom.
A loop of clear plastic thread loops between Violet's ears, allowing her to be displayed wherever you like in your home - by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any little nook to add a little colour and quirky style.
Thank you for taking the time to view this mini bat.
I created this unusual floral suncatcher from stainless steel wire and a mixture of glass beads. Yellow beads make the centres of three flowers, while red, blue and purple beads make the petals. These are all held together through the repeated wrapping of wire through and around them. This wire-wrapping continues upwards to create a stem, which loops around to allow this piece to be hung.
You could hang it in your window to catch the sunlight, on your wall to brighten up a plain corner, or even pop it in a vase for an unusual floral display.

Brenda's craft this week was making suncatchers! Each kid got to pick one to paint and design for themselves!

This sculptural beaded suncatcher features three hearts in gradually decreasing sizes, the largest of which also has a large heart-shaped bead hanging from it. I created this piece from copper wire and an eclectic mixture of purple glass beads. I've also used steel chain repurposed from a necklace, and a ring repurposed from a keyring (which I have passed through a flame to give it a similar golden colour to that of the chain).
This suncatcher measures 33cm (13") long from the top of the hanging loop to its bottom, and 9.5cm (just under 4") at its widest part. It could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, handmade style.

I got a few smaller projects knocked out this week~~I sorted through a pile of patterns and picked from the ones that I already had drawn up and ready to go.
The red and green glass used for the cherries and leaves are both of a wavy texture called Waterglass, the branch is a streaky brown glass and the background is a clear glass called Seedy~I picked this clear to give the appearance of a light drizzle coming down on the fruity goodness.
Measures at 8 1/4 inches diameter, about 21cm.
Daniel Buren(b. 1938, Paris, France)
Suncatcher, 2013
Powder-coated steel, glass, vinyl
Courtesy of the artist and Bortolami Gallery, NYSince the 1960s, conceptual artist Daniel Buren has explored the nature of painting and its relationship to space through the use of simple patterns such as contrasting stripes and color grids. For City Hall Park, Buren has taken the idea of a pergola—a garden trellis traditionally used for hanging flowers—and transformed it into a pavilion of light. When sunny, the colored glass panels bathe visitors in vivid color, expanding the field of painting to the glow of light itself.
I created this linear beaded hanging from steel wire (wire which has a much warmer, golden tone than is normally seen in steel) and an eclectic mixture of glass beads. These brightly-coloured beads have been arranged in the colours of the rainbow, going downwards from red to purple. The beads loop together with repurposed chain and twists of wire, and there are also three wire hearts along the length of this piece. The hanging loop of this suncatcher is a ring repurposed from a keyring, which I have passed through a flame to give it a similar golden colour to that of the wire and chain.
This suncatcher measures 52cm (20.5") long. It could be hung by a window to catch the sunlight, or in any plain corner of your home to add colour and a little quirky, colourful handmade style.

This was the view from my computer desk on May 10, 2022--my pink dogwood suncatcher backed by my blooming crabapple tree. What an inspiring sight in the morning sunlight! Stay tuned! I'm going on vacation & will be putting up several photos today.
Here's a neat way to truly brighten up your home with gorgeous art. These suncatchers have a lovely glow when the sun lights them up, and they also make you happy on a cloudy day.
My Mandala Suncatchers feature my original designs. These designs started out as paintings on vinyl records. Digital photos of the paintings are printed onto transparent decal material and affixed to an upcycled clear plastic c.d. I then drill a hole through the disk and attach a suction cup on a hook so it's easy to hang it in the window and let the sun shine in!
In the pictures you can see what they look like hanging in a window with the sky as background. I love how the shadows of the clouds can be seen through the mandalas.
Payton and Andrew make suncatchers. Andre made a heart and Payton made a flower.
