An incredible guitar riff to a fantastic disco tune!! - Mike

"'Hot Stuff' is a hit single released by American disco singer Donna Summer in 1979 as the first single release from her Bad Girls album through Casablanca Records. Up to that point, Summer had mainly been associated with disco songs but this song also showed significant rock influences including the guitar, which had never been used in a Donna Summer single before. In fact the very intricate solo was played by Ex Doobie Brother and Steely Dan guitarist Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA and remained at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three non-consecutive weeks. 'Hot Stuff' would also win Summer the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, making her the first African-American artist to achieve that feat. It is ranked #103 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of 'the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time'.
The songs also lists at #67 on Billboard's Greatest Songs of all time.
The song also topped the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart, with Summer's follow-up 'Bad Girls' as a double A-side. The popular 12' single edition of the song plays the full 6:47 version of the song and then segues into 'Bad Girls' 4:55 version." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Stuff_(Donna_Summer_song)

"In 1977, Donna Summer -- the first no-bullshit soul singer to have an icy, businesslike edge to her voice -- delivered 'I Feel Love,' one of the greatest, unalloyed disco songs ever. Two years later, Summer transcended her disco origins and stormed the old rock-pop traditions with Bad Girls. The album was more concise and scorching than Summer's earlier work -- particularly the title jam and the Rolling Stones-worthy 'Hot Stuff.' The general impression at the time was that Summer was assuming a place within the line of red-hot rock-soul belters, but the truth was much more important: Along with her brilliant producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, she was creating a new idea of international pop. Madonna's career without Summer and 'Bad Girls'? Unthinkable.
Bad Girls is the first major album to use synthesizer-based disco studio techniques in the service of pop-rock songs. Much of it is played on live instruments; the guitar solo in 'Hot Stuff' is as universal as, say, the Lindsey Buckingham riff on Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way.' But on uncannily biting and hook-y tunes such as 'Can't Get to Sleep at Night,' Summer and Moroder showed how dance music could kick like the meanest real-time rock & roll. For years after, an entire commercial strain of rock and pop would obsess about technology in ways that would revolutionize the sound of music, for both good (Duran Duran) and ill (Kajagoogoo).
This reissue contains a companion disc that collects Summer's previous and subsequent hits: the minimalist masterwork 'I Feel Love' and the sweet, soaring 'On the Radio.' Like Bad Girls itself, it's just about unimproveable.

When I saw this withered, fallen plum on this little tree, I immediately had an association with the words "blue coat" or "blue stuff", the blue work clothes of plumbers, electricians and similar craftsmen. No wonder, is it ?
Dec. 28, 2022: This morning's walk at Pepper Tree Playfield included a check on the stuffed animals I've seen in the park since early December. They are still there, including this one found resting in beautiful light after last night's rain.
Having checked the Severn Valley website the night before to check which way the loco was facing (listed as facing Kidderminster),took the decision to capture the train at Cottage Crossing.
Spoke to quite a few people during the day who had also been caught out when the train appeared tender first.

Another assignment from the Brunetti book. "Collect 12 small objects that have some element or quality in common. Now remove 2 of the objects that you feel are the weakest link in the set. Think about why this now feels like the most cohesive, unified set to you."
This was in the woods right by the Tampa International Airport. There were a couple of other suitcases. All of them empty. They did have airline tags but nothing that could be used to id them.

Taken at a still life session held by the Cincinnati Camera and Photography Meetup group at the Fernald Preserve near Ross, Ohio.
Rob from K&R PhotoDigital carries this briefcase full of stuff around with him and brought it to our session. Exactly how he uses it, I'm not completely sure, but I think he uses it in connection with color calibration and to demonstrate the resolution capabilities of the cameras and lenses he sells. I'll have to ask him why he included some of the stuff in his kit the next time I see him.
He recently sold a Hasselblad H6D setup to Robin Imaging (a local image processing lab). They used pictures of the inside of Rob's briefcase to advertise and demonstrate their new digital capture services capabilities which are very impressive. I cannot compete.
I should add that Rob is one of the sponsors of our meetup group.
