Iced-up fountain outside the main railway station in Zürich.
Strobist info: single red/blue-gelled flash, off to the right, was fired into the back of the ice. SB600 triggered with an Elinchrom Skyport.
Had a Photoshop class with Tim Buerger today.
Worked on some of the photos I did in a previous strobe lesson in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. Now it feels like the lesson is complete... from the shooting to the post-production.
I was never a huge fan of flashes and non-natural light but I really like the results of this class... time to practice!

The power of the strobes does not give much information without the distance, does it?
Just what I needed to lift my mood...a new strobe and ir trigger!
Sunpak 422 D + Cactus receiver and "Yin Yan" budget strobe (cost me $11) + random chinese brand ir trigger (cost me $5). Total cost of this setup: $55. That's less than the price of one vivitar. Woohoo!!
note: my cactus's mounting bracket broke...so I did some engineering and now it's better than ever!

I am so inspired by Tony, Diaz, Ben(and many more) works with potraits and I decided i will make my own light strobe.
I want to learn how one can play with light. In 3 hours, 50Rs(1$) i constructed my own strobe, with 30 degree spread.
Construction:
I took a stiff base, 6 X 6 inch.
Then i did a wire base of 6 X 6 and 12 X 12 inch on top and wire support to stand.
Then added some cardboard cutting according to the shape at the sides.
Then took available white plastics so as to reflect the light(may even try with aluminium foil at sides).
Next, i will try different color plastics and different bulbs to get various intensity and spread...

A strobe light helps illuminate the crown formed from a drop of milk splashing down onto a surface. I really hope that isn't real milk though, or the museum staff will have a nasty time trying to clean the exhibit.

The 3 metal forks are leaning on the box and the yellow plastic fork is actually taped with a small cardboard at its back. Flash set to 1/4 power and fired to the backdrop.
These Led/Neon lights were covering a groups DJ Decks, speakers, amps e.t.c at a early morning rave in Colwick Woods, Nottingham. The party ended up here after a live gig playing jungle, drum & bass and so forth at The Sumac Centre, in Forest Fields, Nottingham.

One 800W monolight with beauty dish high up behind camera 2 SB800s at the monolight side both pointing 45 degree to subjects from beside the monolight .. one SB25 at hind of subjects
So tonight I went outside for round 2 of my strobe test. This time I took both AlienBee's out, it definitely came out better than attempt one last night. Working alone didn't help either, getting the focus on point was a B***H. Rocking the 40/60 Photo "Spray and Pray" t-shirt.

Strobist: Temos 3 flashes. O 580 EX II com um um Softbox III da Lumiquest à direita e acima. Um 430 EX II com outro Softbox III da Lumiquest à esqueda da modelo. Um 420 EX no chão, apontado para o fundo branco.
I'm trying to learn to light things using off camera strobes, and I'm always looking for thing to practice with. This is one half of a set of bookends. This was lit with a SB-600 in a softbox on the left and another SB-600 firing through an umbrella on the right. I just moved them around until it looked right to me. Fun stuff.
