I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.
More practice with the flash. Going with a Stofen Omni-Flex diffuser to soften just a bit. I wanted to see how the shadows fell. The flash was camera left at 45 degrees, bouncing off a 12' white ceiling. I may try a black card next time to keep the light going to the celing. Turned off the ambient light, so the strobe was the primary light source.
Shot with 50mm 1.4 1/60 f/5.6 - Suntax 132AF on left 1 meter away at Lo - 1/16 power, Silver reflector about 6 inches right.
These represent my first try at this technique.
Strobist:
Vivitar 285, 1/16 power, bounced off a sheet of paper to the rear.
I'm interested to see what advantage i can gain from using an additional strobe.
Another one with the blue bag as the background but this one was lighter. I just straightened it and cropped it to make a square, created a shadow/ darker edges around the bottle that made it stand out, and removed a line on the bag.
