Overcycling the strobe to get this self-portrait.

I'm holding a sb800 1/16 behind my back with a blue gel, sb600 at 1/16 camera left and above pointing down at me with a red gel, and another sb600 at 1/8 camera immediate right and above pointing at me with no filter. Triggered via Nikon CLS (on camera flash set at 1/128 because I didn't know any better ; p)

My friend got me this shirt as a birthday present so I thought I'd model it. It's a cool shirt if you know what it means. : )

I liked the somewhat more abstract feel to this one.

I got my new Snap Shot II strobe light the other day. It's a great big thing, made for DJ's light systems. It makes a pretty good photo strobe, though. Nice and short but very intense flashes, up to 15 a second, and it can be controlled by my MAKE: Magazine strobe controller.

just came back from school. Spot the gobo to win a secret prize.

550 canon flash set to multi strobe hand held. exposure about 1 second

I have always been fascinated with strobing. Finally got to play around with some strobes with friends. Here are some of the results.

Using the kit from MAKE magazine 4 and my Canon G4 - sound triggered strobe capture of a balloon popping.

Lucked out and a coworker had an old 4-strobe Novatron set he hadnt used in years.

Was going to do a jumping shot, but didn't want to copy Jen again. I ended up pulling my 3 strobes out, 580ex, Lumopro 160, and Vivitar 273. Setting them all on my truck off camera left and firing them w/ Cybersyncs at FULL power. :)

I like the mistakes...why bother taking it out?

I was a bit limited by the confines of our hallway...

There is a LED enclosed at the left which flickers at the turntable's platter speed (eg. 33 1/3 RPM), which then results in one of the lines of dots appearing to be stationary.

In the case of 33 1/3 RPM, the largest dots appear not to be moving. Speeding up the turntable eventually causes the higher dots to stay, and vice versa.

All 3 with single wistro and beauty dish. One on right had the grid on.

Stacie was up next and Tiff had her eyes on a ivy covered tree in one corner of the grave yard. I instantly loved this as i could see i could use some of the head stones in the image

Shot with my Nikkor 50 mm lense and lit up with my Vivitar 285HV at 1/8th the power off to the right on a tripod and my Canon 540EZ at 1/24 the power held in my hand just off to the top left of the camera as to light up the headstone
