Was able to catch a few frames of an adult male Mississippi Kite going through his morning stretching exercises prior to flying off. This is an early evening picture taken while exploring the mud flat of Crater Island, Utah. I was checking the mud to see if it had dried out enough to allow hiking, which I planned to do the following morning. The condition of the mud was good.
Two weeks earlier I tried hiking here with a handcart and had to abort the trek because the wet mud clung to the handcart's tires, making travel a nightmare. With the knowledge that the mud would co-operate this time, I planned to get revenge for the earlier disappointment.
The tire tracks are not mine and I don't know how old they are..
