The Nippon Pacific struggles for traction on the greasy rails, and of course, the taxis take the opportunity to squeeze through before the crossing becomes completely blocked. In the suburbs, to the south of Amman, Jordan. October 2007. © David Hill.

You know how it is, there are some breeds of animals that just have a certain something about them. For me it is Border Terriers, Herdwick Sheep and when it comes to cows - Jerseys.
A friend of ours has herd of Jerseys on her farm, and they are just the nicest, most friendly of cows. Whilst my wife was off tending her bees, which are also currently staying on the farm, I went to say hello to the cows. They are always pleased to see you and come crowding around the gate.
This beautiful little lady wasn't going to miss out and squeezed between several of her mates to say hello.

I was able to squeeze in Galata Tower in between this very narrow alleyway.
“The Galata Tower, Galata Kulesi in Turkish, is one of the highest and oldest towers of Istanbul. The 63 meter (206 feet) high tower provides a panoramic view of the old town. It was built in the 14th century by the Genoese colony as part of the defense wall surrounding their district at Galata directly opposite ancient Constantinopolis. They called the tower as "Christea Turris", or "Tower of Christ". The Genoese were involved in trade with the Byzantines and the tower was used for the surveillance of the Harbor in the Golden Horn. After the conquest of Constantinople by Mehmet II, it served to detect fires in the city” excerpt from www.greatistanbul.com/galata_tower.html

A million thanks again for all the kind words and well wishes over the past few days. Mother & baby are still at hospital but doing well. I expect there will be many more baby pics in the near future, but i just wanted to wait till William was feeling completely better and out of the NICU before posting more.
Squeezing in a bit of work this morning and catching up with some Getty submissions on the theme of the UK coast, which seeing as i'm very rarely far away from one piece of the UK coastline or other is a subject close to my heart.
Back to the beach at Gwithian for another telephoto vertorama made with my sigma 70-300mm. Cant beat those little fluffy clouds!

Many fans of the magnificent Grey-headed Fish-eagles are familiar with the Pandan eagles. Recently there's another couple taking residence at Hampstead Wetlands Park. However this new couple is more elusive and sightings are erratic.
I was hence understandably thrilled when I finally get to meet them! And yes the male obliged with a close dive, albeit unsuccessful. But on it's recovery flight, it flew straight towards the small group of us and landed on a bare stump at eye-level and surrounded by the blooming pigeon orchids!
I held my nerves and squeezed the trigger. It's a dream come true. Presenting my favorite portrait shot of this apex hunter :

Squeezing out that last bit of light with a 6 min on the beach. During this exposure the uscg were making their nightly rounds around the lake leaving a big circular solid white and red dash light trails around the center of the image. Debated on taking it out but decided to just leave it in there.
