(Overly) sharp images are now a dime a dozen. Lens designs are squeezed for every last ounce of sharpness, and where that's not enough, AI filters — especially on smartphones — intervene during the storage process.
It's time for a soft revolution. Not only to stand out from the endless flood of identical images, but also to create more flattering and dreamy images again.
Soft-focus images should not be confused with blurred images. They are not blurred, (intentionally or accidentally) incorrectly focused images, but sharp images with a layer of blur superimposed on them. That's why they don't look “flawed,” but dreamy and romantic.

This suit has been in my closet for over a year because it is much too small for me. It was too tight to get it over my shoulders and close the zip. Finally I found a zentai suit where the fabrics glide very well over each other. With that I managed to squeeze into that amazing luge suit. The compression was very strong but still it was nice to wear. Just the collar was too tight.
In combination with my soccer shoes, goalkeeper gloves, sunglasses and a simple light setup, a nice new gallery is the result. Hope you like!

On your way from the parking lot uphill to the tent rocks you'll pass this short slot canyon.

SS: This was the bluest thing I found on short notice. It's strictly ornamental and not even functional. It's two inches tall of 'why the hell does my wife keep this stuff around?!"

Strobist info: Bare 580ex II (1/128) to the left, rim lighting on the right from LED flashlight used for focus. Additional ambient light from warm glow of 27" iMac behind subject.
A wonderful walk in the Lakes is following the dry stone wall on Lingmoor Fell to Side Pike. The Squeeze, on the right side of the image, did slow the walk a bit as removing the backpack was required in order to get through. Blea Tarn is in the distance.
It was a tight squeeze to get large locomotives such as Castle Class 7029 Clun Castle into Worcester Locomotive Works. There was a rail traverser outside the works to allow one locomotive to enter the works through a doorway. Large engines such as 7029 could not enter fully as shown in this view taken 19 September 1965.. During the final months of operation the last engines to receive attention were preserved engines 1420, 4555,6435, 7808 and of course 7029. The works were to close a month later.

There's something about this lady that creeps me out. I've shot her a couple of times "candidly" but she knows I'm taking her photo and smiles at me.
She makes me shiver... don't know why.
Next time you're in Glasgow check her out. She busks outside the Apple store.

Funny Story:
I went out the other night and crashed at a friend's place. The next morning I felt the usual post-heavy-night-of-drinking bowel urges, but decided not to destroy my friend's bathroom and just save it till I got home.
I'm on the road for about 5 minutes when suddenly, and without any warning at all (other than the warning light that had been on for 6 days) I run out of gas.
I pull off to a residential street in Beverly Hills and call AAA, who says they'll be there in no more than 30 minutes. Great. But the moment I hang up the phone... uh oh.
Biological emergency.
My first instinct is to find an alley, but in Beverly Hills there are no abandoned alleys that you can drop trow in willy nilly. So I go running down the street in the hopes of making it to a cafe or something, but nothing's open. Not even Petco.
Then, like an oasis in the desert, I spot a motel. I nearly get killed running across the street and, with a look that I'm sure said "either I shit in your bathroom or I shit on your floor," ask the woman at the counter if I may use the facilities.
When I say I JUST made it, we're talking fractions of a second. You wouldn't believe the sense of both relief and accomplishment that overwhelmed me. But that, of course, is when the tow truck calls and tells me they're going to leave if I'm not back at my car in 5 minutes.
So I wrap up and now I'm back in the street, running to get back to my car. I'm standing in the median of Santa Monica Blvd. and for some reason the traffic begins to stop to let me pass. I hate when cars do this, but whatever. First a van in the far lane stops, then the Porsche next to him. I reluctantly begin to cross and sheepishly wave to thank them for stopping.
And that's when I did a double-take as I noticed who was driving the Porsche.
It was House.
Yes, Hugh Laurie. WTF indeed.
So if you're keeping score, that's running out of gas for the first time in my life, coming the closest to shitting myself since I was probably 8, and a celebrity sighting.
