Yuba sleeping in his five-sizes-too-small cat bed that he adores. He didn't awaken until I gave a cat snack to Tigger (and then the all the other cats downstairs awakened as well).
I got a bad disease.

You know how it is, there are some breeds of animals that just have a certain something about them. For me it is Border Terriers, Herdwick Sheep and when it comes to cows - Jerseys.
A friend of ours has herd of Jerseys on her farm, and they are just the nicest, most friendly of cows. Whilst my wife was off tending her bees, which are also currently staying on the farm, I went to say hello to the cows. They are always pleased to see you and come crowding around the gate.
This beautiful little lady wasn't going to miss out and squeezed between several of her mates to say hello.

Yesterday, as the snow was steadily falling - I thought I'd squeeze in some baking between all of my other cabin chores. I made a raised lemon blueberry coffee cake to go with Doc's hot cup of coffee, once he returned to the cabin after finishing up his snow-blowing work. Fresh homemade bread stood on another cooling rack waiting for dinner.
About an hour before dinner, I slipped my first large tuna casserole of the winter season into the oven - prepared some sweet beets as our veggie, and then added a side dish of applesauce.
Doc looked pretty content, and It was a great way to end our busy day, as we watched the sun break through the darkened sky, and slip down behind the Chugach Mountains.
