I love how only letting infrared light in to the camera sensor brings such a different look to flowers and plant stuff.
We always get a "Spring" tease around this time of year...today was no exception. No coats, sun, green grass and bulbs pushing their way up through cold ground! The sun feels so good on the skin and for the soul! But once it goes down, it's chilly again, but while it's out, we enjoy it's gentle kiss and a promise of more to come~
Pink Hearts

Came out overnight
And in the sun rays
Their hearts sparked to ignite

Bluebonnets have been loved since man first trod the vast prairies of Texas. Indians wove fascinating folk tales around them. The early-day Spanish priests gathered the seeds and grew them around their missions. This practice gave rise to the myth that the padres had brought the plant from Spain, but this cannot be true since the two predominant species of bluebonnets are found growing naturally only in Texas and at no other location in the world.
As historian Jack Maguire so aptly wrote, "It's not only the state flower but also a kind of floral trademark almost as well known to outsiders as cowboy boots and the Stetson hat." He goes on to affirm that "The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland."
My daughter named this one. I told her to tell me what she sees when she looks at this picture. She said "Its raining in spring". And on second look, she's right. All the colors are there...the purple and yellow for flowers, the green for grass, the blue for rain. Children...they see straight to the truth of things!

I made my first visit to Hepburn Heights Conservation Area. It was beautiful and quiet natural reserve. The spring flowers were only just starting to appear.
This is an image of a Grass Tree (Xanthorea) and a flowering spike. The spike was about 3 m tall.

So finally Spring came during the last weekend but iy only lasted the time to take few shots. We are going to have a rainy week, but this is great for me, since I have to study for my Construction exam, until friday (and I must say that this preparation is really freaking me out!).
