We had our glimpse of summer, school holidays are over, shifty weather, Royal Wedding.....back to normal:)
Another I've been saving for this time of the year. While taking a walk recently during a spell of warm sunshine, I was struck by the plethora of different spring flowers and blossom. After the drab days of winter, it has to be one of the finest sights to behold.
Wishing everyone the best that the season has to offer!
Even on a muddy day, the trails of Virgin Falls are well worth the hike. Best I can tell the flower is some type of Rhododendron, but I would love to know from someone who knows for sure.
While finding the right position for setting up for the ISS shoot I couldn't help enjoying a quite, Spring, sunset on the lake. I should have recorded the sounds of the lapping water and calling birds (and even a hound howling somewhere in the distance) to help set the scene. Beautiful evening.
spring. and the combined deciduous azalea and the clematis. [the rabbits will chomp them eventually]

Many walls in Albuquerque are decorated with brightly colored flowers or just bright colors as a way to make the city brighter. Spring is a welcoming sight.
Naturalized Trout Lily wildflowers in my garden.
Common forest floor Springtime flower.
"Trout Lily grows in huge colonies that can completely cover a forest floor. The colonies can be hundreds of years old and takes a long time to grow to such a size."
"Its bulbs are sterile up to about the seventh year and then it produces only one leaf and no flowers. When they mature one plant will grow two leaves and one, beautiful yellow flower. The colony spreads mostly by runners and less importantly by seed."
"Trout lilies have a symbiotic relationship with ants known as myrmecochory. This means that they exchange a lipid-rich appendage on their seeds in return for an ant seed dispersal that spreads the colony and protects the seeds from predation."
"This plant is a beautiful spring ephemeral meaning it is short-lived in the spring only."

Surprisingly spring is still here...;) It doesn't always last that long in my part of Texas.
Speaking about Texas weather, it was looking like it might rain at the Sandcastle festival this coming weekend, but now it looks like it's going to be sunny. So, lots of lotion.
I pulled out my old laptop to update everything for the trip and my malware scanner told me it found 5 questionable items. Of course I said delete them. When the system tried to do a restart, it couldn't. I had to do a factory reboot..What I thought might take a half hour has now turned into a much longer project. I'm just happy I'm doing all this at home and on my WiFi
I'm going to be a gate keeper the first day, the second day I'm a photographer and the third day I'm working the grille..lol..They have never tasted my food..:)
Just experimenting with ICM, think it works here - but only from a distance, don't view large!! Preferably from another room... ha :)
Sigh. Supposed to snow tonight. lol Warming up quite a bit, after that. These little beauties in my front yard, are usually the first colour that we get.
SU-99 charges the grade at Mathews Ave in Riverdale with a three pack of yellowjackets on Friday, April 21. The recently repainted SD70M-2s have just started making their debuts on the road trains and have been a hit with the fans.
Its so good to get out with the camera and shoot some new life!!
