Spring Commencement Ceremony at Viterbo University, La Crosse, Wis. May 2018

Oval Spring is a geyser in the Sawmill Group of Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. It's located about 40 meters north-northeast of Sawmill Geyser and 13 meters north-northwest of Penta Geyser. The circular basin is about 9 meters in diameter. A centrally-located, irregularly elongated vent is oriented northeast-southwest and is about 1 by 2 meters in size. The basin is floored by geyserite, which varies in surface morphology from nodulose to smooth-but-slightly-undulating to terracetted. Shallow, irregularly dendritic channels are present in the geyserite floor that drain water toward the central vent.

Water levels in Oval Spring vary depending on the nature of eruptive activity in other Sawmill Group geysers. Observed conditions include: low to very low water levels (but still visible), moderately high water levels, and a water-filled basin with slight overflow. Observed behaviors range from calm pools to pulsing/undulating to splashing eruptions.

From 2013 to 2016, eruptions at Oval Spring were often reported. It had a years-long dormancy from fall 2016 to spring 2021. Eruptions have since been reported from June 2021 to fall 2025 at least.

Spring snow storm moved into the Rockies. With the power out in the night, the crew had fun 'camping' by the fire.

Last dance of the year. See y'all next fall.

One of the first spring flowers in my garden so I just had to take a photo of it.... a snowdrop... a very apt name as there was snow on the hills yesterday!

The Saratoga Race Course Anvil -"Shaping the Past" - It is on display in the Walk of Fame Building. Now a little bit of history: Since 1934 this anvil has helped shape much of the ironwork you see walking through historic Saratoga Race Course. Notice the detail while climbing the staircase to the clubhouse or look above at the intricate designs gracing the Carousel building. The race course is located in Saratoga Springs, NY. (SS/29)

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!

After a seemingly unending winter, it's now finally spring here in central Ohio. The first flowers are starting to bloom, so of course i thought I'd get out and take some pictures of them...

As if on cue on the first day of spring our daffodils started to bloom.

The Pointe hosted their annual Spring Fling celebration this past Saturday. The residents, their families as well as staff and their families, all gathered throughout the first floor common areas to visit, take photos with the Easter Bunny, enjoy breakfast and shop the Bake Sale. Due to inclement weather, the egg hunt was held inside. The kids spirits were not dampened in the least as they made a mad dash down the hall scooping up the colored treats. The day ended with the drawing of both the Boys and Girls' free raffle. The child's baskets were filled with toys and treats. The adult raffle basket was won by resident Florence Tringl. A large turnout resulted in the bake sale selling out of goods. All proceeds from the bake sale and adult raffle went to the Resident Activities Fund, which is used to support outings and special events for the residents.

A big thanks to everyone who participated and joined us on this special day!!
