The top of a small ridge is covered by a field of goldenbush surrounding trees that have not leafed out yet on a Spring afternoon on the crest of the Temblor range west of McKittrick in Kern County, California.
Eastham St Mary`s churchyard showing off its spring colours, in the background is the Eastham old Yew considered by experts to be around 1600 years old.
This Dall Sheep looks to be molting off its winter coat for a summer one. We can usually see Dall Sheep off the Seward Highway and this day was no exception, except that these two (only one pictured) were lower down the mountain than usual. This sheep looks back at the other as it saying, "Come on, climb back to where I am."
