Waikoropupu Springs, also known as Pupu Springs, contains some of the clearest water in the world. The horizontal visibility has been measured at 62 meters (just over 200 feet)! This is the 2nd longest such measurement in the world. The springs are the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, producing approximately 14,000 liters of water per second (3,700 gallons).

The last couple of days, it seems that here, the temperatures are raising, with up to 15°C. The last bits of snow are starting to melt, at least at my altitude and some flowers are coming among the grass. I hope it stays so.
Picture taken almost tree weeks ago during a walk, when I thought the Spring would already come!
Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion held a Spring Breakout event for Soldiers and their Families at Monti Gym to celebrate Spring Break. Kids enjoyed bounce houses, arts and crafts, snacks, and a nature walk. The Red Cross was on hand passing out deployment kits for children of deployed Soldiers and SHARP had information available for the whole family. The Division Surgeon's office was present to go over basic summer first aid, and Master Sgt. Curtis Mosley taught basic self defense mini classes.
Delicate color and a few water drops add to the beauty of this early blooming tulip.
Welcome to Spring! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all. We are just back from a few days in Monterey County, and I will catch up over the next couple of days.

Thanks to all of you for the kind comments, awards and faves! Wishing you a Happy Spring!
Once again, stepping back into the past, this is one of my favorite images from 2020 brought to life with a new editing technique. I spent some time working on bringing out the colors, and the details of the image to show one of the more majestic views right alongside the Blue Ridge parkway. This scenic vista stretches out before you form the Mile High Campground on the southern most end of the parkway, giving you a glimpse into the magical world that awaits visitors, or long time residents. Sometimes it pays to stop what you’re doing, leave the hustle and bustle for a while, and just look off into sunset from atop a mountain.
