Buttermilk Falls, Terryville Connecticut
This is a roughly 60-foot waterfall, with 3 tiers. This is a section of the middle tier of the waterfall. When you get to the bottom of the falls you can not see the top tiers so they have to be photographed separately. Buttermilk Falls is part of the Mattatuck Trail and is a hidden gem in Terryville Connecticut. Web sites state that you can not go swimming here. On the contrary, I raised my kids in Terryville and the road we lived on was a 2-mile road that led straight to this waterfall. I used to bring my kids here all the time when they were small to swim with our dog Chruncher and the great part is we always had the waterfall to ourselves back at that time. Now, more people are finding out about it but still, you usually see one or 2 people when you visit this waterfall.
I had to shoot this with the camera balanced on rocks because both my remote shutter and my tripod broke right after I arrived here. I used them both about 2 times, ugh Murphy's Law. LOL

Fresh out of the camera and there will likely be more to shoot tomorrow. The Iris appear ready to make up for the lackluster performance of the Daffodils and Crocus up here on the tundra. The miniature Iris didn't bloom at all this year but most of the big ones are loaded with buds.
In case you are curious, this one smells even better than it looks.
...and so have I my fine flickr friends...sprung back ;) I have been absent from photography, flickr and Instagram, social media as I have been living through 'interesting times' over the last couple of months. Luckily I did not feel I was missing out on anything photographically as the winter has been very bland here - no surf, no skies, no nothing.
I emerged from my metaphorical 40 days in the Desert this week with a lighter heart and a Spring back in my step. The ocean responded in kind with some wonderful waves and surf over the last few days with the beginning of Spring here in Bondi.
We are expecting ice pellets tonight and nearby New Brunswick has a 10-15 cm snow forecast eek! These are in my neighbours garden in a sunny spot. I noticed I ahve a photo of the same flowers from my own garden last year on April 12 but there are no signs of them yet this year...the flowers are much slower due to the colder weather.
