Daffodils and tulips, mixing in the garden. Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania -- April 29, 2021
There are many statues around the gardens of the Skylands mansion in New Jersey. I've read they were meant to be charming or mischievous characters, but in certain lights they look a bit haunting to me.

Like many other people, I'm posting from the wonderful blooming of trees already in Atlanta area, all due to the recent 70-degree days...
Check out the flora section of my website.

"To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man." --

Inspired by the book by Rachel Carson and an appropriate title for these times. This is one of the many small public parks dotted around the centre of Zagreb, captured on a visit last April

Keg Spring is at the base of the wall at the head of the canyon, in the center of the frame. A small stream flows from the spring, and a few miles downstream this canyon has a confluence with the Green River in the Labyrinth Canyon Wilderness.
Seven land shots were taken while the sliver of a moon was approaching the western horizon--the wan light illuminated the left-hand side of the canyon. Twenty-two minutes after the moon set I took the 30 shots for the starry sky featuring the Milky Way.
Land Shots (7): ISO 4000, 14mm, f 2.8, 225 sec--stacked for the composite in PhotoShop.
Star Shots (30): ISO 6400, 14mm, f 2.5, 15 sec--star shots rotated in StarryLandscapeStacker so that stars resolved to points of light
Many thanks for your visit, stars and comments.
I appreciate it very much.
Warm greetings from Holland, Corry

"I was born in the path of the winter wind
I was raised where the mountains are old
Their springtime waters came dancing down
And I remember the tales they told.
River, take me along in your sunshine, sing me a song
Ever moving and winding and free
You rolling old river, you changing old river
Let's you and me, river, run down to the sea"
From the song, "River" by Bill Staines
Yes, today is the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere; the vernal equinox. Daylight and Darkness are about equal, with daylight continuing to increase until the Summer Solstice in June. What better image to represent spring than a group of bright yellow daffodils! I wish I could say that this image was taken from my garden, but it is actually from my visit to Longwood Gardens. Amazing display of spring flowering bulbs among other things at Longwood. I will be posting some shots from my visit this week. Mostly the rare Himalayan Blue Poppy. No, I have not gone mad and switched from birds and wildlife to flowers. I do enjoy macro photography from time to time, and what better subject than flowers (well, actually insects may be better)!
Happy Spring to those in the Northern Hemisphere!
Daffodils are blooming in the backyard and some nice, bright sunshine to light up the yellow flowers. Being early March, we're not out of Winter yet and the temps are still chilly, but at least there are some signs of the changing seasons.
I played around with the angle on this shot and thought it was fun to switch to the ultrawide lens and angle up to get the blue sky and sun. It at least makes it feel nicer that it actually felt outside!
After almost a 3 week hiatus of shooting I just received a new camera and went back to the scene of the "accident" to try to capture a spring runoff that we haven't seen this high in over a decade. The water level at the subway wasn't quite as high as 3 weeks ago, but pretty close - and I managed avoiding disaster this time. I've got a lot of catching up to do on everyone streams and look forward to seeing all the great shots
This is 2 images blended in photoshop to capture the sky in the shot
"I tried to forget
But you grew roots around my ribcage
And sprouted flowers
Just below my collarbones.
All day I pluck their petals
But I have not yet ascertained
Whether you love me
Or not."
I have been wanting to do this picture for a while; I had the idea first of all after reading this poem and second, after having seen a painting of a similar theme (I have no idea what its title is nor who the painter was, so if anyone recognizes it, please let me know: I'd like to give credit).
The other morning, I heard birds chirping outside while I was getting ready for work; and the sun was just starting to rise so I didn't have to drive in total darkness.
I love spring so much.
There’s something about all the new life coming into existence, the breeze you feel when you close your eyes in the middle of a field, the buds on my rose bushes and the flowers that follow, walking outside just after a thunderstorm.
It makes me happy, in the most honest and simple sense.
Also, I feel the need to at least acknowledge this : ) Just recently Joel (who is an absolutely FANTASTIC photographer and all-around awesome guy!) posted a picture with the same title. I had definitely been planning on using this title for a while, so I don't want anybody to think that I stole it :P
EDIT: The poem is by Anna Peters (Tumblr); please check her out! Her work is INCREDIBLE!
Many Thanks to the +14,900,000 visitors of my photographic stream
