I took this yesterday after I dyed my hair black. I got bored and just tossed on my corset and a shirt and used the lounge sofa as a plain backdrop. Fullview looks better.

Testing softbox baru.

So today is that wonderful day where everyone is nice and uses words like please and excuse me...oh wait, I'm dreaming. No, today is black Friday. A time of waiting, pushing, getting deals on low quality products and of course the fear of getting pushed out of the way for the toy of the year. So Julianne got to experience her first black Friday and as you can see...fear came! This photo was taken with a handheld softbox (because my lightstand isn't that low). Trying to hold a softbox in one hand, a camera in another and focusing on a baby...now there's a trick!

Entstanden in der PLV-Woche "Experimentelle Fotografie"

from a series of photos taken last christmas for my christmas cards. shot in my studio using nylon softbox lit on all sides

Here's the other side. I also reinforced the glued corners with duct tape (mostly cause I was impatient and didn't want to wait for the glue to 100% dry)

Strobist info: 430EX 1/2 power through 24" softbox camera right

The iDroid. Please direct all legal suits to my copy editor.. Strobist info, Canon 580exII @ 1/8th through softbox on camera right, triggered by TTL cable. Canon 580exii @ 1/64th with diffuser, camera left, triggered optically.

The angle of the sides is not quite right - needs to be steeper pitched. The plastic is roof insulation from my local hardware (like bubble-wrap silver on one side white on the other - often used for those shade screens you put in your car window). The plastic insulation diffuses the light enough that you don't need a screen on the front (unless you're shooting something reflective).

Made this spiderlight off some designs here on flickr. A second flash is too expensive for me, so I will just stick with this till I can afford more.

Strobist. This picture is my first shot as a strobist.

Learning to use those external flashes is going to be one of the most difficult tasks I'll ever have to accomplish, but I'm quite confident I'll get things to work out the way I like (:

Strobist:

Shot in Ebay softbox, one Sunpak auto zoom 2400 on top left, triggered via GI remotes.

Continuous light softbox... Finally had a chance to build it. Its lit by 5, 100W equivalent CFLs at 5400K. I hope it will help yield some good photos.

Also made a huge mess in my living room :)

For the interior I grabbed pair of rolls of baking foil from my significant other. ;)

As I haven't been gluing anything for ages and have never ever tried to glue baking foil, I decided to give the process a test drive on one of the cut-off parts.

Strobist: B800 into large softbox above. B800 with 20* Grid behind and left of subject.

Shot with DIY softbox (with canon 540ez inside) above and SB28 camera left. Idea was to show that this camera (an Olympus Mju 770 SW) is good for mountai bikers as it's shock, water and crush proof — great if you want to just put a camera in you riding pack and not have to worry it will be in bits when you get home.

A 79p Asda plastic bowl, lined with silver foil and covered in grease proof paper with a slot cut out of the back to snugly fit over the Flash gun.

messing around with softbox lighting.

Not the best subject today, but it stood still enough for me to practice lighting on.

strobist info: DIY softbox? 580ex in a white paper bag to camera right on 1/16 power, manual. Triggered by a ringlight attached to camera pointed away from the stapler. Anxiously awaiting a kit from MPEX for by birthday.

Reading DIY website and came across some projects for a softbox. They seemed far too much work. So I thought about it some more and decided I could do this in 30 minutes with some paper, tape, exact knife and banker's box
