Ok, I go to Hawaii......kick back with my beautiful wife.....ignore work....snorkel with dolphins.....experience Pearl Harbor......dine on the beach.....but what is my highlight?
A 15 foot helium filed softbox being used on the set of Universal Pictures upcoming movie Battleship. Love it! Want one.
Why she still loves me after 20 years is a mystery.
Testing various subjects after I've made my first DIY softbox. The setup is:
1. DIY softbox with 24W flourescent bulb on the left,
2. 3x white sheets of A4 paper for reflection on the right
3. 100x70cm sheet of black paper as background
standard take out container approx 8in x 8in, just ask your favorite place for an extra box as you are picking up your order, most don't mind and extra one here or there.
Spray inside with spray adhesive and line the bottom portion with tin foil, shiny side up. The lid, I just used regular paper towel. Clean up the edges so container closes like it has some Thai food in it. Take your trusty light and use an Exacto Knife (utility knife) and cut out THREE sides, make sure it is tight fit. I leave the last side untouched. This way it gives a "flap" that I can secure with a rubber band if I desire. Have fun with your Softbox.
Some lightbox action. Need to replace one of the lights to get rid of the yellow light, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the result.
the glare looks bad, but I really like the effect of my cardboard, duct tape, and bed sheet! :) sunpak 383 from the right hand side
I cut out the face of a cereal box, leaving about 1/2 inch around the edges for integrity, and taped a piece of paper over the opening. Then, I cut a second hole at the base of the box for an SB-28. Cut that hole tight so that the pressure keeps the cereal box, I mean, softbox, on the flash head.

EL flash está disparado con los cactus ebay triggers. El flash me costó 4 euros en una tienda de segunda mano
All shots lit with an SB-80DX.

Actually I shouldn't upload this. I like the other very similar photo better and the expression isn't remarkable.
I uploaded it anyway because I just love the little guy. And because I'm so excited about my newest tool - the softbox. It let's me control my light like nothing I've tried before and it was on my wish list for a long time until Kenneth found a great used one for a great price. I can't thank him enough.
