Kona abalone: part of a salad, which was very yummy.
The whole shell is approx. 3" x 2" - this is just part of it.
I've been experimenting again..... This time with a technique called the Sutton Slice. It's v effective and I think I'm a little bit in love with it.
So this batch consists of two earrings dangles and a pendant top left, a pendant with roses on, and a triptych pendant which will have secret bails at the back to thread on with.

Very cute toy from the Melissa and Doug toy company. The girls *love* it and slice the fruit over and over.The halves are held together with Velcro and a wooden knife is used to cut apart the pieces.
5 Moda jelly roll strips on each side with batting in the middle was used to create the upright pattern holder and carrier. Any size piece of paper can be accomodated on the board since the straps move and are adjustable.
My quilt top for the quilt along. I will be giving this as as baby gift to a friend of mine.
I can't wait to make another one of these quilts. The next on will be a lap size for the family to snuggle under.

21st February 2011 - 365 day 52. The crystaline structure of a slice of agate illuminated from behind. The outline reminds me of the north of England.

Galley and Slice. The galley is used for hand setting type. The slice is a removable (sliding) part of the galley that allows for easy moving of the composed type onto the stone. This one is completely made of wood and estimated to be around 160 yaers old..
