I came across a Kugelhopf pan at an auction recently. I used the recipe from Dorie Greenspan's "Baking from My Home to Yours." I had to times it by 1.5 because I have a 12 cup pan. The bread came out delicious! I've eaten 2 slices a day since I made it. I think next time I'll sprinkle a lot more sugar on it while it's still hot, just to give it a nice sweet crust.

I ordered a "slice" of lemon meringue pie thinking I was opting for a lighter dessert, then I saw this . . . a little bit of lemon topped off with a tower of meringue. The people sitting behind us even offered to help me eat my 1/4 slice of lemon meringue pie.

This shop is more than 100 years old. Slices were all hand-made.

A slice of ice breaks away from it's less tenuous parent. The moving water helps thaw the ice from underneath and eventually it's own weight causes the ice to break away.
