The Pantheon (/ˈpænθiən/ or US /ˈpænθiɒn/; Latin: Pantheon,] from Greek Πάνθεον meaning "every god") is a building in Rome, Italy, on the site of an earlier building commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus (27 BC – 14 AD). The present building was completed by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated about 126 AD. He retained Agrippa's original inscription, which has confused its date of construction.
The building is circular with a portico of large granite Corinthian columns (eight in the first rank and two groups of four behind) under a pediment. A rectangular vestibule links the porch to the rotunda, which is under a coffered concrete dome, with a central opening (oculus) to the sky. Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome.[3] The height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle are the same, 43.3 metres (142 ft).
It is one of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, in large part because it has been in continuous use throughout its history, and since the 7th century, the Pantheon has been used as a church dedicated to "St. Mary and the Martyrs" (Latin: Santa Maria ad Martyres) but informally known as "Santa Maria Rotonda". The square in front of the Pantheon is called Piazza della Rotonda.

L’aspetto di Pisa mi piace assai più di quel di Firenze. Questo lungarno è uno spettacolo così bello, così ampio, così magnifico, così gaio, così ridente che innamora: non ho veduto niente di simile nè a Firenze nè a Milano, nè a Roma, e veramente non so se in tutta l'Europa si trovino vedute di questa sorta.
Vi si passeggia poi nell'inverno con gran piacere, perchè v'è quasi sempre un'aria di primavera: sicchè in certe ore del giorno quella contrada è piena di mondo, piena di carrozze e di pedoni: vi si sentono parlare dieci o venti lingue, vi brilla un sole bellissimo tra le dorature dei caffè, delle botteghe piene di galanterie e nelle invetriate dei palazzi e delle case, tutte di bella architettura. Nel resto poi, Pisa è un misto di città grande e di città piccola, di cittadino e di villereccio, un misto così romantico, che non ho veduto mai altrettanto. A tutte le alte bellezze, si aggiunge la bella lingua.

Pisa è famosa per la Torre che pende in Piazza dei Miracoli, ma anche per i suoi stupendi Lungarno, ossia per le vie che fiancheggiano i muraglioni del fiume, l'Arno, che attraversa la città.

Mi piace fotografare la luna fino ad un paio di giorni prima della fase di plenilunio.
Solo così si percepiscono i rilievi montuosi, i crateri lunari e la sua sfumata sfericità. La scorsa notte l'ho fotografata al 100% con la massima illuminazione, ma la troppa luce la appiattiva rendendola più simile ad una enorme medaglia piuttosto che una bellissima sfera in viaggio nello spazio.

I like to photograph the moon up to a couple of days before the full moon phase.
This is the only way to perceive the mountainous reliefs, the lunar craters and its nuanced sphericity. Last night I photographed it at 100% with maximum lighting, but too much light flattened it making it more like a huge medal rather than a beautiful sphere traveling in space.

“Magredo” deriva dal friulano locale “terra magra”, cioè arida e povera d'acqua per la presenza dei sassi, . In estate i prati aridi dei magredi appaiono brulli e bruciati dal Sole definendo un paesaggio simile ad alcune lande desolate del meridione o alle steppe continentali dell'Europa orientale.
Magredo" derives from the local Friulian "terra magra", ie arid and poor in water due to the presence of stones,. In summer the arid meadows of the magredi appear barren and burnt by the Sun defining a landscape similar to some desolate lands in the south or to the continental steppes of eastern Europe.

Italiano : Negli anni 30 deli' 800' sorse in Russia lo stile architettonico " Neo Russo " che si rifà allo stile classico Ortodosso di S.Basilio ,vero simbolo dell'architettura nazionale . La chiesa della Resurrezione ,che si rifà a questo stile ,ha una superficie di 1642 metri quadri e un'altezza di 81 m . E' a 5 cupole con il campanile affiancato ,sormontato da una cupola dorata. L'insieme è molto curioso per la forma e per i rivestimenti multicolori .Di una importanza notevole sono i 308 mosaici su una superficie di 6500 metri quadri di rivestimento . Non esiste un altro monumento che abbia qualcosa di simile . Progettata dall'arch. A.A.Parland e dallll'archimandrita Ignatij ( I.V.Malishev ) 1883-1907 .
English : In the 1830 ,the " Neo Russo " architectural style revived in Russia ,with is based on the classical Orthodox style of St.Basilio ,a true symbol of national architecture . The Resurrection church ,with is based on this style ,has an area of 1642 square meters and hight 81 m. It is 5 domes with the flanked bell tower overlaid by a golden dome . The set is very curious for the shape and for the multicoloured coaling . The African moon moth (Argema mimosae) is a giant silk moth of the Family Saturniidae. Similar in appearance to the giant Madagascan moon moth (Argema mittrei), but smaller, this moth can be found widely in Eastern Africa and more locally in Southern Africa, including near the east coast of South Africa. An adult can measure 10 to 12 centimetres (3.9 to 4.7 in) across its wingspan and 12 to 14 centimetres (4.7 to 5.5 in) from head to the tip of its elongated 'tail-like' second pair of wings. Its forward wings have a distinctive grey-coloured 'furry' leading edge, giving a very rough surface, presumably for aerodynamic reasons. Apart from the eye-like markings on its wings, the colouring and shape of the wings give the appearance of a piece of foliage, especially the 'tail-like' structures of the rearmost wings which resemble a dried out leaf stem - presumably for camouflage in its natural environment.

La femmina adulta è lunga circa 7,5 cm mentre il maschio adulto circa 6 cm. Inoltre, il ventre del maschio è articolato in 8 segmenti, che diventano 6 nelle femmine.

The praying mantis owes its apparently curious name to one of its physical characteristics: the position similar to a person who prays.
This insect, in fact, has a habitual position of the front legs at rest, reminiscent of hands joined in prayer. The word mantis itself comes from the Greek Mantis, meaning prophet.
As with many other insects, also in the praying mantis there are differences between male and female specimens.
The adult female is about 7.5 cm long while the adult male is about 6 cm. Furthermore, the belly of the male is divided into 8 segments, which become 6 in the females.
European mantises are usually bright green in color but can turn light brown. They have a large black patch on each of their front legs and two pairs of wings, corresponding to the middle and hind legs.
A particular feature of these insects is the presence of a single ear, placed in the center of the thorax.

Mount Washington was known to the Aboriginals as the place where there Creator would stay when he/she came to visit the Earth. When I saw the sunlight shining on Mt. Washington (center left) it seemed like a lovely simile, or even a manifestation of the original inhabitants beliefs and knowledge.

3. Last light on Monte Rosa

Mentre la valle è già avvolta nell’ombra, le cime più alte del Monte Rosa vengono illuminate un’ultima volta dalla luce del tramonto. Un momento di quiete sopra un paesaggio in costante trasformazione.
Il ghiacciaio del Grenz scende dal massiccio del Monte Rosa e si unisce al ghiacciaio del Gorner, che all’altezza del Gornersee (a sinistra nell’immagine) è ormai quasi scomparso. Questo lago temporaneo d’acqua di fusione appare in estate al confine tra i due ghiacciai, quando l’acqua si accumula in una depressione naturale sul ghiaccio. Non appena le temperature scendono, il lago scompare.
Ciò che rende il Gornersee così particolare è il suo svuotamento naturale, a volte improvviso. Quando il livello dell’acqua raggiunge un punto critico, essa scorre attraverso canali subglaciali verso valle, in direzione del fiume Vispa. Un evento simile è noto come GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood), in cui enormi quantità d’acqua possono essere rilasciate in brevissimo tempo.
Per i glaciologi, il Gornersee è di grande interesse. Il lago offre preziose informazioni sul mondo nascosto sotto il ghiaccio: come si muove l’acqua di fusione, come si formano i canali di drenaggio sotterranei e quale ruolo gioca il cambiamento climatico in questi processi.

Während das Tal bereits im Schatten liegt, werden die höchsten Gipfel des Monte Rosa ein letztes Mal vom Sonnenlicht erfasst. Ein stiller Moment über einer Landschaft, die sich ständig verändert.
Der Grenzgletscher fliesst vom Monte Rosa Massiv hinab und trifft auf den Gornergletscher, der auf Höhe des Gornersees (links im Bild) bereits fast verschwunden ist. Dieser temporäre Schmelzwassersee entsteht im Sommer an der Grenze der beiden Gletscher, wenn sich Schmelzwasser in einer natürlichen Senke auf dem Eis sammelt. Sobald die Temperaturen sinken, verschwindet der See wieder.
Besonders am Gornersee ist sein gelegentlich plötzliches natürliches Ablassen. Wenn der Wasserstand eine kritische Höhe erreicht, bahnt sich das Wasser über subglaziale Kanäle den Weg hinab in Richtung Fluss Vispa. Ein solches Ereignis wird als GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood) bezeichnet, dabei können in kurzer Zeit enorme Wassermengen abfliessen.
Für Glaziologen ist der Gornersee von grossem Interesse. Der See liefert Einblicke in die verborgene Welt unter dem Eis: Wie sich Schmelzwasser bewegt, wie unterirdische Abflusskanäle entstehen und welche Rolle der Klimawandel dabei spielt.

While the valley is already in shadow, the highest peaks of Monte Rosa are lit one last time by the setting sun. A moment of stillness above a landscape in constant motion.
The Grenzgletscher flows down from the Monte Rosa massif and connects with the Gorner Glacier, which has already almost vanished near the Gornersee (left in the image). This temporary meltwater lake appears in summer on the boundary between the two glaciers, as meltwater accumulates in a natural depression on the ice. When temperatures drop, the lake disappears again.
What makes the Gornersee remarkable is its sometimes sudden natural drainage. When the water level reaches a critical height, it carves its way through subglacial channels downhill toward the Vispa River. Such an event is known as a GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood), during which immense volumes of water can be released in a short time.
For glaciologists, the Gornersee is of great value. It provides insights into the hidden world beneath the ice: how meltwater moves, how subsurface drainage channels form, and what role climate change plays in these processes.
Ungheria, Budapest, Ponte Della Libertà, Primavera 2016
Il Ponte della Libertà (Szabadság híd in Ungherese) a Budapest, Ungheria, collega Buda e Pest attraverso il fiume Danubio. Il ponte è stato costruito tra il 1894 e il 1896. E’ lungo 333,6 m e Largo 20,1. La parte superiore dei quattro piloni è decorata con grandi statue in bronzo del Turul, un uccello simile al falco, molto importante nella mitologia ungherese.
Szabadság híd (in English: Liberty Bridge or Freedom Bridge) in Budapest, Hungary, connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube. The bridge was built between 1894 and 1896. The bridge is 333.6 m in length and 20.1 m in width. The top of the four masts are decorated with large bronze statues of the Turul, a falcon-like bird, prominent in ancient Hungarian mythology.

E' da parecchio tempo (anni) che desidero assistere ad una scena simile e, nel contempo, avere la possibilità' di riprenderla; ed ecco che, all'improvviso, la costanza è stata premiata.
Purtroppo lo scatto si è dimostrato non facilissimo per diversi motivi; 1) il posatoio non parallelo al PDR 2) l'estrema vicinanza dello stesso ( 3,45m) 3) non ultimo il sole ci ha messo lo zampino ed ha pensato bene di nascondersi poco prima dell'arrivo dei soggetti.
La difficolta' piu' grande la limitatissima profondità' di campo.
Ho deciso mi rimanere su una lunghezza focale di 200 mm e di usare un f 11 per avere circa 5cm di PDF sia front che back.
La poca luce ha limitato la MF in considerazione anche del fatto che l'arancione del martino spesso tende ad impastare.
La scena si è ripetuta 2/3 volte permettendomi di assistere ad un evento che mi ha entusiasmato.

Unfortunately the shot has proven no brainer for several reasons; 1) the roost not parallel to the PDR 2) the proximity of the same (3, 45 m) 3) not least the Sun took a hand and has seen fit to hide just before the arrival of the subjects.
The difficulty very limited depth-of-field bigger.
I decided I stay on a focal length of 200 mm and to use a f 11 to have about 5 cm of PDF both front and back.
The little light has limited MF into consideration of the fact that the orange of martino often tends to knead.
The scene is repeated 2/3 times allowing me to attend an event that wowed me.

Arch. Voronikhin ,costruita 1801-1811.. Vi si trova l'immagine di Nostra Signora di Kazan ,trovata da IVAN Il Terribile durante l'assedio a Kazan e divenne una delle reliquie della Russia .
L'Imperatore Paolo I ,quando era ancora erede al trono ,visitò Roma e S.Pietro .Si ripropose ,una volta in Russia di far costruire un tempio simile a S.Pietro in corso Nevskij per contenere questa immagine miracolosa e così fu .

Il pousse spontanément dans les forêts humides des zones montagneuses. Au feuillage ressemblant au bananier, il se distingue par ses grandes inflorescences, longues de 50cm, dressées et formées d’une douzaine de bractées rigides, rouge minium (rouge orangé) à rouge saumon, à l’intérieur desquels se cachent les fleurs .
Les bractées colorées ont une forme étrange et rappellent celles du Strelitzia, également appelé « Oiseau de Paradis ».

It grows spontaneously in humid forests in mountainous areas. With its banana-like foliage, it is distinguished by its large, 50 cm long, erect inflorescences formed by a dozen rigid bracts, minium red (orange-red) to salmon red, inside which the flowers are hidden.
The colourful bracts are strangely shaped, reminiscent of those of the Strelitzia, also known as the 'Bird of Paradise'.

Las coloridas brácteas tienen una forma extraña, que recuerda a las de la Strelitzia, también conocida como "ave del paraíso".

Sie hat bananenähnliche Blätter und zeichnet sich durch ihre großen, bis zu 50 cm langen, aufrechten Blütenstände aus, die aus einem Dutzend steifer, miniumroter (orangeroter) bis lachsroter Hochblätter bestehen, in deren Innerem sich die Blüten verstecken.
Die farbigen Hochblätter haben eine seltsame Form und erinnern an die Strelitzie, die auch "Paradiesvogel" genannt wird.

Cresce spontaneamente nei boschi umidi delle zone montane. Con il suo fogliame simile a quello di un banano, si distingue per le grandi infiorescenze erette, lunghe 50 cm, formate da una dozzina di brattee rigide, di colore dal rosso minio (rosso-arancio) al rosso salmone, all'interno delle quali sono nascosti i fiori.
Le brattee colorate hanno una forma strana, che ricorda quella della Strelitzia, nota anche come "Uccello del Paradiso".

È il 1922 quando Luisa Spagnoli, nel tentativo di contenere i costi di produzione, impasta la granella di nocciola, residuo di tante lavorazioni, aggiungendovi una nocciola intera e ricoprendola con l’inconfondibile cioccolato Luisa®. Vista la forma simile alla nocca di una mano lo chiama “Cazzotto”.
Il Bacio® come lo conosciamo non è ancora nato. Ci vuole il fondamentale contributo di altri due personaggi per far entrare il cioccolatino prima nella Storia e poi nella Leggenda. Il primo è Giovanni Buitoni. Il successo è immediato per il delizioso cioccolatino, dalla ricetta unica ed inconfondibile. Nel 1927 la pubblicità recita: ”In soli 5 anni la Perugina ha distribuito cento milioni di Baci® e continua a tutt’oggi con foga giovanile”.
Il successo di Baci® Perugina® è inarrestabile e giunge oltreoceano nel Paese in cui tutti i sogni diventano realtà: l’America. Il punto di partenza per questa “star” elegante e raffinata non può che essere sulla Fifth Avenue a New York, dove apre il primo negozio Perugina®.
Con i Baci® Perugina®, i sogni non hanno mai fine: desiderio, speranza, fantasia sono racchiusi in un sospiro e vengono simboleggiati da allora con delle piccole stelle che diventano un elemento iconografico del cioccolatino.
