Street portrait - I've taken Jill's photo a number of times as she always asks me to every time we see each other. Jill has had a tough life, one of drugs, booze and partner abuse; but she's always smiling. I hadn't seen he for a while and it turns out she's been in jail/rehab. However, its nice to see he sober and looking a lot better than when I saw he last.

Bali Ha'I is a fictional island that appears in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "South Pacific," based on James A. Michener's book "Tales of the South Pacific."
South Pacific was very successful on Broadway, and was made into a movie that was also commercially successful.
When I was young, my parents' record collection included an LP of songs from the Broadway show, performed by the original cast members.

IMO, any idiot could tell the difference between the trails on which bicycles are allowed, and grasslands where no bicycles - or pedestrians, for that matter - should be.
I have my own bias, but I'll just say that it's an open question whether anyone who would ride a bicycle where it's obviously inappropriate would pay any attention to a sign. But I underhand why the park district posts the signs.

We are seeing this scene more and more in our cities and towns. Brick and mortar stores are closing as people shop online for the sake of “convenience”. Next time you buy something online that you could go to the store and buy think of the children who depend on the adults that work in the retail industry. Store clerks, truck drivers, warehouse workers, private vendors, the utility companies that provide services to the store, the restaurants that may be in or built around the stores, the list of people impacted really does run deep. Ultimately it takes a toll on the overall economy. Who wants to see empty vandalized buildings everywhere? Not me.

Out and about on my latest visit to Glasgow I came across this scene, thought I'd capture it as these Hybrid cars are still in the minority though I am sure in years to come it will be a very common sight as electricity moves to overtake fuel driven cars.
Hybrid version of Mercedes Benz C-Klasse c350 e plugged into a power supply on Glasgows Wilson Street, a sight that is becoming more and more evident across the Uk as we move towards electric powered cars.
Looks like Dr Who has parked his Tardis just across the road too, guess its electric powered , wonder what he though of his visit to Glasgow .
