Earlier this summer, when I got a COVID test. (it was negative)
I was in line for four hours. Actual test took 2 minutes. Results came 10 days later.
Once envisioned as a centre for downtown for entertainment and shopping, the final demolition of Eau Claire Market, Calgary began early February 2025.
Steel snapped and tumbled to the snow-covered concrete as bulldozers ripped away pieces of Calgary's Eau Claire Market, a once popular mall near the Bow River built in the early 1990s.
The demolition is the next step to clear the way for a future train station that may never come, leaving groups in Calgary concerned the downtown neighbourhood will end up a casualty of political battles between city hall and the Alberta government.
The memorial was set up on the Avenue des Gobelins, Paris 13th arr., the district in which he lived.

Spotted this yesterday walking in Lowertown Ottawa. Struck me as allegorical considering the state of our world these days. I sincerely hope it's not.

Harkins North Valley 16 opened on May 18, 2001 and finally fell victim to the coronavirus and online streaming in May 2022. The company considered remodeling this theater with all the bells and whistles but said that the investment was not worth it. (Translation: Few want to pay the exoribitant price to see movies, and we can't compete with streaming at home.) Harkins indicates they have other plans for north Phoenix, but I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, a nighttime ticket to see a movie that costs over $15 is not welcome to the family with rising fuel and grocery costs.
