That's how it is when you only see a tiny section. Suddenly you're all alone in the area. How it can sometimes be deceptive. All around there were many more of these little heralds of spring :-)

Liebes Glück. Vergissmeinnicht.

If this isn't a luck bringing duo, then I don't know either. Promisingly bigger than a thumbnail (this year especially big, in diameter like my whole thumb!) and smaller than one. Clover is supposed to bring good luck – but I've heard that the four-leaved has a little more of it ready ... The forget-me-not in combination can only promise good things – no more time for the blues, even if the blue shines so brightly ;-)
///

#mesh
Sunrise over planet Colander. The extremely holey atmosphere of planet Colander, here as seen from its moon Cullander, and its particular surface structure, cause an extreme scattering of the light particles which results in the optical illusion that not one, but thousands of suns are rising not only from behind, but also through the surface of planet Colander. The phenomenon is also known as "bokeh rising". (Source: Meshypedia)
Not the most original choice for "mesh", I know, but I had photographed mesh fabrics for the previous mesh-related MM themes (please see the first comment, or my album, if you like), so this time it had to be something not so different different. Since I also didn't have much time for the photo (which is not per se a bad thing) it had to be a simple set-up. So I placed the small colander against a piece of cardboard with a shiny gold-coloured coating, held the transparent red chocolate box lid in front of the soft light LED lamp that provided light from above (and I'd placed one warm light LED lamp slightly behind the colander), and took a few photos from different angles. The blue hue, which reminds me of our planet's stratosphere, is the last bit of daylight coming in through my living room window.
Image processed in DXO PL5 (sharpening, DeepPRIME denoising, micro and fine contrast adjustments). Final processing touches done in Analog Efex (Classic camera 7, general adjustments, vignette, and Film "subtle", no grain).

If you can't see an eye, just take some steps back and try again ; ))
Detail of an autographed handmade serigraph I bought some years ago at an exhibition. It's a reproduction of a word painting by the artist SAXA (Cologne), which is handwritten ink on canvas.
Taken with a narrow angle and rather wide open to only get the eye into focus ... the bubbly bokeh balls on the right side are actually letters / words too ... the whole work of art is made of words, phrases, lyrics ... really really cool ; ))

#flowers
Interior of an already slightly withered purple Eustoma blossom. In German, this pretty cut-flower is also known as tulip rose, because it looks like a rose on the exterior, but like a tulip on the interior (well, sort of). For further confusion, Eustoma actually belongs to the gentian family, and therefore also goes by the name of prairie gentian, but is also known as Texas bluebell, although bluebells aren't gentians, nor are they roses or tulips, but belong to the Campanula family. Oh, and have I mentioned that the Greek name Eustoma translates as "pleasant mouth"?
The flower is endemic to the warm areas of the southern United States, to Mexico, the Caribbean and Southern America – which must be the reason why the second name this flower is known under in Germany is "Japanrose": Japanese rose. OK, let's settle on Eustoma ;) Especially the purple, lilac and white colour varierties are being cultivated for the cut-flower market.
My photo is a focus stacking made of 15 images (combined in-camera). I've used both extension tubes (10 and 16 mm) to get as close to the yellow pistil as possible. I'm not 100 percent happy with the sharpness, but as usual it was impossible to re-shoot the exact same image, so I decided to stick to what I have. Processed only minimally in DXO PhotoLab (since I already had the in-camera Jpg). In ON1 I've added a subtle vignette and some glow.
HMM, Everyone!

Another experiment with fairy lights - I couldn't help it ;))
[glitter wrapping paper, fairy lights, light tent, day light and additional lighting with a reading lamp ... and a bit playing around with Nik Collection (Analog Efex)]
The little reflections of the fairy lights on the glitter made me think of stardust when taking the photo ... no additional or artificial bokeh / sparkles - it's all natural :))

DNA studies suggest that native American dogs entered North America from Siberia roughly 10,000 years ago, and were then isolated for some 9000 years until the arrival of the first Europeans; these pre-contact dogs exhibited a unique genetic signature that is now almost gone. A study based on sequencing of ancient dog genomes, published in 2020, suggests that this pre-colonial ancestry survives in two Mexican breeds, to the extent of about 4% in the Chihuahua (and some 3% in the Xoloitzcuintli).
Colonial records refer to small, nearly hairless dogs at the beginning of the nineteenth century; one claims that sixteenth-century conquistadores found them plentiful in the region later known as Chihuahua. In a letter written in 1520, Hernan Cortés wrote that the Aztecs raised and sold little dogs as food.
The American Kennel Club first registered a Chihuahua in 1904, Midget, owned by H. Raynor of Texas.

I've started to collect older, already processed images in a "Flickr waiting line folder" so that they are easier to find than in the depths of my Lightroom Catalogue. I'm sure you know the "problem". We collect so many images on our hard drive, some of which we don't like right away, and we only see their potential much later, others that we like from the start, but somehow there are so many other new photos competing for an upload so that many of these photos are left behind. I often go through LR and flip back to earlier images, and I think "Oh, this one is actually nice, I should process it and post it!", but it's the "wrong" day for that particular image in the Flickr world of theme-related groups; the next day I'll see another image and I'll think the same, and by the end of that (or any other) week I have usually forgotten about any of the archived images I thought "postable". And so on ;-) Hence the special folder, and this is the first one from that folder, captured (with the lovely 45mm F/1.8) back in July 2018 on my Mother's birthday at a nice Café and Restaurant, the "LuLa Deli & Grill", around the corner. Meanwhile I have quite many new images from a visit to the Olympic stadium this week, and I'm busy with processing these and will post a few soon, others later, so stay tuned :-)
So, dear Flickr friends, treat yourself to something nice for the weekend, stay safe and healthy, and take care! And I'd like to send special greetings to my Flickr friends who live on the US West Coast and experience the horrible wildfires. I'm thinking of you, and I hope that the fires can be controlled soon, that it gets colder soon, and also that hopefully there will be rain, really anything that helps. Take extra special care and stay safe!

#bookmark
Please press "Z" (twice)
Late again, and not 100 percent happy with the result, but it's an OK image, I think. Neon-coloured Post-its, arranged between the pages of a Simon's Cat book – not that I would ever bookmark a Simon's Cat book, but the cover is of a nicely bright, kind of "creamy"
Smurf blue that goes well with the now bleached by daylight and therefore slightly pastel-looking Post-its. I borrowed them from a camera book, and photo / camera / cook books are the only ones I bookmark with, sometimes many, Post-its. The fun thing with cook books is, however, that I actually never use the bookmarks as such. Because everytime I'm looking for a recipe, I'll simply flip through the pages or go straight to a certain chapter. And when it comes to paperbacks or page-turners, I'll simply bookmark these with dog ears, but when it comes to more precious books, I'll use anything that won't damage the pages – even a regular bookmark ;)
I've used the 10 mm Kenko extension ring for this photo, and I'm aware that there's only a waferthin part of the image actually in focus, the edge / tip of the blue Post-it (and the upper part of the book cover), and I hope that this "pinpoint" focus / sharpness is enough to make the image enjoyable. Processed in DXO PhotoLab, as usual, and I've also enhanced the small and medium details quite considerably in Luminar AI where I've also tweaked the colours with the HSL sliders.
HMM, Everyone, and have a safe and happy week ahead!

Day 223/365:
I thought I'd try something a bit different today. I placed the rose in front of one of my images on the computer screen. Then made this image using macro lens and Omni crystals. The screen image isn't really visible, just adds to the overall background effect. The faint, yellow rose is the result of one of the Omni crystals.
