“Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘It will be happier.’”
– Alfred, Lord Tennyson
taken on a very windy day (at about 1,700 m altitude) - the rose hips and the grass were dancing beautifully together ...
When thinking of the colours of autumn the bright red rose hips (and other fruits and berries) always come to my mind.
Rose hips also make very tasty jam / spread ... but no fun when you have the little itchy seeds under your clothes on your skin (this was a favourite pastime of the bad boys at elementary school ; ))

Happy Crazy Tuesday, everyone !!

And there it can still be bright quite strong ;-) A certain magic lives in these objects and this has a very special charm for me.

Und da kann es noch ganz schön kräftig leuchten ;-) Eine gewisse Magie wohnt diesen Objekten bei und diese übt für mich einen ganz besonderen Reiz aus.

"The glass is cut
The bottle run dry
Our love runs cold
In the caverns of the night"
Bono/U2 - 'Red Hill Mining Town'
This glass lid came (some years ago) with a bottle of very very delicious Sicilian red wine - but it can be used on most other wine bottles, too : ))
another experiment with lighting ...

dieser Glaskorken wurde (vor ein paar Jahren) mit einer Flasche sehr leckeren sizilianischen Rotweins geliefert - kann aber auch auf den meisten anderen Weinflaschen verwendet werden : ))

Day 10/365:
Macro Monday - Corners
I had two options for today but try to only post one a day so went for this one.
My vintage rule and Omni filters. HMM
We landed on the sun and set up a base camp - an amazing feat. Those aren't petals...they're solar flares.
Smile on Saturday - "Vivid orange".

Macro Mondays - One colour
I tried several ideas before settling on this off white one with a tiny starfish shell on a piece of muslin. HMM
For your pleasure, here is a link to Starman by David Bowie, because I know you are all singing it now ;)
"... But have no fear, I'm really rather timid. If I see you coming, I'll always make a dash for it; it being the nearest, suitable safe haven."
Later, he climbed into the palm of my left hand (new tab), without taking his eye off me; my little camera was resting on my wrist, only a few millimetres away from his nose. And, for a long moment, we were eyeing each other up!
It takes a lot of patience, stealth and cunning to get really close to one of these guys. But they don't seem to mind my little camera. Once, I was so close that my "special, newly-designed, "strap-on macro lens" actually touched the nose of one of them and I don't know which of us was the more startled.
The gear in question (new tab) - The very latest in modern camera technology! Shh! Mum's the word! ( ツ)
And, as you may have noticed the depth of field is extremely short highlighting only the salient features - its eye and its claws!
Viewing in lightbox is a must and on full screen (F11), of course!
Yet another remake!
Take care and many thanks for calling,
Till next time,
Colin …
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart, and you'll never walk alone ..... Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday - HMBT!
Again a classic point of view of a classic subject. It seems I like it the classic way ... Since I am on Flickr I learned that it is perfectly fine to imitate other photographers .... the variation comes through imperfect imitation ;) The title and quote I took from a Pink Floyd song, I like the lyrics. Hope it works with the image, for me it does. Just a tryout.
Thanks to all my great Flickr friends ... for all your comments, encouragement, faves and inspiration you give ...

HMBT- Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday!
I mentioned 'tiny window' earlier and meant to wax poetic about that brief span between Fall in Winter that we get in the mountains, indeed there were spatterings of snow here and there already, but for this shiny moment, maybe the last time for a year, the colors are truly spectacular so get up and get out folks, it's on! :)
This agapanthus was in my flower delivery a couple of weeks ago...couldn't let it go before taking a photo. I used a couple of my own textures and a f-fair bit of f-faffing. HSS
Title from My Generation by The Who. I often start singing the song when photographing fading flowers.

This succulent plant is in my kitchen window sill. We were both very happy that the sun was shining again ;-) Maybe that's why it bubbled so many bokeh bubbles? Almost as if the plant wanted to say something, like with speech bubbles ...

Macro Monday - Pair
Anything goes for 2021 - White on white
I've done similar to this in the past but took this and a few other photos earlier before we were called out to collect our grandson from preschool. He then wanted to go for a walk. Of course no self respecting doting grandparent could possibly refuse. It did mean I ran out of time to get another shot. HMM

Love taking nearsighted shallow depth of field macros to capture this antique 18 carat gold pocket watch. Fairly abstract looking into the inner workings of the watch. That's the way I see life without my thick spectacles ;)
Less than 3cm or less than 1 inch across.
Thanks for your comments and faves.
A fragile poppy flower being held on by the tiny thorns on the stalk on the left, expressing their symbiotic relationship. It was very windy and the flower petals were fluttering a lot.

We were out with Tilly and her owners today and Tilly very kindly modelled for me as I was getting desperate for my photo for the challenge. I had to remove the distracting background and I then added a texture which I thought complimented Tilly's colouring better.
A view I won't forget in a hurry. The moment before rain comes in and everything vanishes. I tried to capture this by having the background slightly out of focus, and looking more at the intimate detail in the foreground, while a sense of the expansive drama still draws the eye to the mountains beyond.
Day 333/365:
I managed to get my favourite perfume at a very good price in the Black Friday sale. I also received this miniature gift set with it. So, another low key macro since my camera and macro lens were still set up from yesterday and I was a bit short on time after having our grandson for the last few days. He has gone home now and we will miss him terribly, he's great fun and really good company although extremely tiring! ;)
I added a couple of textures (my own).
