Minolta MD 50 f1.4 manual focus

An old, run-down city in the heart of Outlaw territory, the Shade was not a place for the faint of heart. There was no law, no order, no peace or safety. It was overshadowed by the Queen's castle, high on the rocks above it. The lowest of the low lived down by the swamp where disease outbreaks were constant. The only people living there were the meanest, most vile creatures to be found anywhere in Roawia. Except maybe in Loreos. The Shade was the unofficial Outlaw capital.

"Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade."

Charles Dickens (1812-1870)

How true these words are in Minnesota, as we don't know from one moment to the next what the weather will bring!...maybe it's like that for you in these changing seasons....

Enjoy the weekend, flickr friends...thanks for your visit....Pat...xo

*************Update

Richard had surgery for a ruptured Achilles' tendon one week ago...and we've been spending time getting used to him having his leg up 90% of the time and no weight bearing. I'll let you imagine how he gets upstairs at night time:)

Takes 9-12 months for a full recovery if all goes well.

I have peeked into flickr from time to time but not much time for comments or groups.....that will be changing as we are getting into a routine. I miss seeing your postings and my favorite groups.

I liked the shade and light pattern..

Have a good evening everyone

This is the front lawn to the Yerkes Observatory in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. The building is to the left of this scene. I took photos of it but due to the placement of the sun, it was pretty much all in shade.

As I was making my way back to the main road I noticed the sun peeking through the low hanging branches of this tree. So, to avoid leaving empty handed I stopped and grabbed this shot of the sunburst and enjoyed the shade from the tree for a few moments :-)

Love how the light reflects around the building facades and bounces all around the street.
