Strobist: Hensel strobe with media softbox above and behind camera (had to watch out for reflections in the picture frames). Hensel strobe with 9" reflector and grid camera right. SB800 with 5" snoot for hairlight. SB800 set to wide behind the couch for backlight.
This is the Strobist setup shot for Ava's 1940s photos. Alien Bees B800 with 24x36 foldable softbox, plus a Nikon SB-800 (I think it was an 800) acting as a rim light. I don't know what power was set on the flash, but the B800 was moved between 1/16 and 1/4 depending on the shooter and camera settings.
This was roughly the same setup for this shot: www.flickr.com/photos/jeremyhoward/3825351920/
Car artist Ian Cook, aka Popbangcolour, loves nothing more than painting live at car events. To do this he has a mobile studio which takes some work setting up and breaking down. Here he sets up for the VMAX 200 event.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to online courses. Setup and maintenance costs are one of the considerations that have to be weighed when a schools is determining whether to offer online learning.

Setup for this shot. I used the softbox rather than one of my umbrellas, because I wanted super soft wrap around light on my fingers, and less light spillage into the room. The fairly low power of 1/64 was due to the fact I had the lens wide open at 1.4.
Strobist:
430EX with shoot through umbrella mounted on extended lightstand, held as a boom, directly above couple but just out of frame
triggered with CTR-301s

This is the setup shot for the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and the Sigma suncap (zonnecap) that I shot for selling on the local second-hand website.
There are two Nikon SB flash units (SB-26 and SB-28) standing on flash support stands I bought off eBay (they are amazing things). The product is housed in my DIY lightbox (see here for more photos in this lighbox). Shot handheld using a Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6. Setup shot taken in ambient light using Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 (I love this lens, really!).
Selectively blurred to protect the identities of the innocent objects :)
