This is a macro shot of a passive infrared sensor in a motion detector. I took this for a display in a product show that I'm participating in.

The THP motor protection module has been especially designed for scroll compressors.

According to the DIN 44081/082 standards, up to 9 PTC temperature sensors, with different rated response temperatures, can be connected in series to the input of the measurement circuit.

"Rated temperature" refers to the temperature above which the resistance of the PTC increases very quickly.

As soon as the temperature in one of the monitored areas exceeds the rated response temperature of the corresponding PTC sensor, the THP motor protector module is activated, and consequently de-energises the relay.

When the protector is activated a timer is started; the protection mechanism can only be disabled 30 minutes after activation, and when the PTC signals (the resistance of the sensors) have fallen below the reset threshold.

February 2013, Venice Carnival. A sensor scans models’ faces acquiring them in a digital environment. The software application written by the designers generates customized masks for on each model. The masks are produced as unique pieces through 3d printing and WINDFORM materials. The models take part in the Carnival.

This project is developed by DO THE MUTATION – generative design lab, in collaboration with EDGELAB S – space and form strategies. The three masks are produced by CRP GROUP with their WINDFORM materials.

My 400D is a bit over a year old now with around 25000 actuations (bought new). Never cleaned the sensor. Attempted to clean it today but was not very successful. Need better tools I think.
