I love my 30D, but it does have issues with a greasy kind of dust getting on the sensor that just blowing doesn't seem to get rid of. Thought I would try this system - but confess to be still being too chicken to actually use it!
On the bottom of the engine behind the crankshaft pulley. This was replaced recently when I was troubleshooting what turned out to be a stripped distributor drive gear. Not sure how many teeth are on the pick-up wheel for this sensor. I'm sure MS can use it for something. (and keeping it connected to the factory ECU should allow it to pick up misfires, even though the MS is actually controlling spark)
