This light sensor is saving energy in the library entrance since it only turns them on when they are needed.
Your monitor isn't dirty. Those flecks are on my D70's sensor. Verified with multiple lenses. Nikon Capture does an impressive job of removing these marks based on a dust off reference photo but I'd rather clean the sensor.
Virginia Sea Grant 2020 Commonwealth Fellow Nicki Gustafson travels to multiple creek sites in and around Roanoke, Virginia to deploy water quality sensors in streams with impaired water quality. Many of these streams are critical for native brook trout, which need low temperatures during the breeding season.
Gustafson's work at her host office, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality's watersheds program, will identify impaired streams and lay the groundwork to restore water quality in those streams.Apr 16, 2021 (Photo by Aileen Devlin | Virginia Sea Grant)
The sensors I employ daily to see where my world lies in relation to me, and to move in reaction to my understanding of where I, the world and things need to be at a point in time.
It's times like these when you kick yourself for forgetting to get a sensor cleaner for the n-teenth time.
Here is where I tape the Fiber Op cable from my Pclix onto my camera. If you haven't guessed the IR sensor is right above the red area of the grip. If you use black tape, more than one strip is necessary to attach the cable to the sensor. The adhesive loses it's stick on particularly hot days.
Eindhoven is leading as one of the top smart cities in the world. Aside from sustainability plans, we lead big data research too. For example the Citybeacons, which offer city info at anyone's fingertips, while continuously watching and sampling the city with cameras and sensors.

Overview
PIR sensors allow you to sense motion, almost always used to detect whether a human has moved in or out of the sensors range. They are small, inexpensive, low-power, easy to use and don't wear out. For that reason they are commonly found in appliances and gadgets used in homes or businesses. They are often referred to as PIR, "Passive Infrared", "Pyroelectric", or "IR motion" sensors.

FAQ
1.How long do motion sensor lights stay on?
Most people set their motion detection lights so they will stay on for about one to two minutes.
2.Do motion sensors save electricity?
Motion sensing switches do have some “phantom” energy use. According to this study, motion sensor switches use about a watt of energy on standby mode (23 hours a day) and 5 watts on active mode (about an hour a day). This trims a bit off of your overall savings.
