Background:

A while back I brought my Wii with the prototype sensor bar over to my sister and her family's place to play some games while my sister was at her baby shower. Predictably, they got addicted and the search began. They purchased a Wii for xmas, and asked if there were aftermarket sensor bars available (to take their console to friends' houses, etc), or if they had to rig something up like my crazy contraption. So, seeing as we're pretty much broke these days, I figured the cheapest thing I could do was make a spare sensor bar that they could cart around. So, the search for a good housing began.

Heather found a 2-pack of ~10-inch long drawer pulls in Ikea's scratch'n'dent area for a buck!

Perfect!

So, this pic is a shot of the drawer pull strapped to the bench, getting the first holes drilled.

Note the high tech clamps.

Cost so far: $0.50

What the piss happened to my sensor?! This has never happened before. I bought a cleaning kit and cleaned it myself. It took ages though. I hope this never happens again!

Picaxe 08M-based environmental sensor node.

Our unique light sensor measures the intensity of the room's light and automatically calibrates the brightness of the image on the screen. In a sun-filled environment, the picture grows even brighter, and in dim surroundings, intensity is reduced. So now you're saving energy on a bright screen when it isn't needed. You're enjoying the best picture possible with a TV that's aware of its surroundings.

The resistivity of the water after filtration can be measured in the hundreds of MΩ—very close to theoretically perfect resistance for water. This machine records with two probes, just like a normal DMM.

I noticed that I have this speck appearing on my photos. Actually, it looks like a grain of sand or something. I can easily get rid of it in lightroom, but it's annoying as anything. I know it's not on my lenses, so it must either be on the sensor or it's a dead group of pixels in the 7D itself. Anyway, I tried to clean it using this air blower I have. I set up the lights and let Tay take the picture today. Looks pretty good, eh? This is actually the 2nd night in a row I've dialed in the settings on all my flashes and on camera and had the lighting just come out perfect with no tweaking. I must be getting good or something.

I see sensor dust - lots of it - balls. That means I need to get in there and clean it off. New territory for me. Any tips would be welcome.

I've added the white box to hide the private parts, as I couldn't set the photo to restricted since I'm not a premium member.

Shouldnt look like that!
