I walked from Canonbury to Stratford today via the Regents canal.

I'm glad this shop is still going, when I used to work down the road from here I used to buy a lot of second hand things from here.

Ps if you look carefully you can see me in this one in my new silly sunhat.

Stamped December, 1972. (What the heck is mounted in that triangle?)

Sign made from a light box purchased at a thrift store with fabric cut from an orange shirt stretched over it (the "volunteer" graphic was already on the shirt). Still trying to figure out a way to hang it in my window.

Lovely pink bow flats found at local second hand store. Couldn't resist although they're not of my size...

Pictures of the kimono and related items I bought from a tiny second-hand shop I found in Arashiyama, Kyoto.

I bought:

Black Haori (3000)

Pale Green Haori (1000)

White/Black Kimono (5000)

Green/Blue Kimono (2000)

Blue Rainbow Obi Set (2500)

White Tabi Socks (1000)

Red Cord Zori Shoes (1500)

There are expected minor imperfections, mostly on the insides along common sweat stain areas or a few possible sunburn spots. I believe they're all mainly silk though, and they're very well-made.

The obi is a premade-type, so I don't have to learn how to tie it! Thank god, otherwise I'd never wear these.

This one was part of a vintage tank dress that I bought and wore but it was such a straight shape that the bottom ended up ripping so I cut the bottom part off and now it's just a top and this fabric is the cut-off part. Oops. I think I see a stain right in the middle of it.

This Dennis Dart SLF was new to Metroline as DLD71, now owned by Emsworth & District this is one of two owned from this batch.

This store buys clothes that get left behind in driers in Japanese laundro-mats, and sells them in Singapore.

The decision day of the election.. Rudd vs Howard. I walked down to the school where we had to vote, but i forgot to enroll so no votes from me. Labor won.

Wearing all Secondhand, I made the skirt into a dress and added buttons, red button necklace made by my sister.

Will be up loading soon to my new blog thats currently a work in progress hehe. So feel free to have a looksie..

A second Chinese fox puzzle within a month: again wooden, with 26 whimsies and a different pose. And once again found in a charity shop. At half the size of the other one it was fiddly - the pieces were tiny - but still worth the effort. Supplied in a smart wooden box, it even comes with two struts to hold the lid, which acts as a guide to assembly. Very classy presentation for a Chinese product, equal to some of the US brands, I should think.

A few things around here have seen better days. Neenah Yard.

This piece was rolled up and tied when I bought it so I didn't find the fabric on the inside (in next picture in my photostream) until I got it home and opened it up to wash it and found that it was a tied baby quilt sort of thing. Very heavy and stiff for a baby quilt so it doesn't look like it was ever used. This fabric is a medium weight, almost canvas-like cotton.

A former Santa Fe Dash 8 leads a former BC Rail Dash 9 on train M343 near Stevens Point WI.

The railway purchased a secondhand Doosan swing shovel wheeled digger that was converted when new with a rail wheel conversion. This will be used for flailing which in the past has been carried out by contractors incurring a year on year cost and it is also a versatile machine for PW work.
