And here's the rain that accompanied the rainbow I posted yesterday. Ying and yang! I love the rain, but my camera doesn't, so I've been thinking about a smaller, lighter, more weatherproof camera - suitable for street photography but has some versatility too - limited budget (maybe secondhand). Does anyone have any recommendations?
Many thanks!
This is a film scan done with the pixl-latr. Probably taken around 15 years ago with a Canon SLR on Delta 100 film. I'm quite impressed with how film does subtle highlights. Might have a hunt around for a secondhand bargain!
La fleur parfaite est chose rare. On pourrait passer sa vie à en chercher une, et ce ne serait pas une vie gâchée.
I took this image in front of a secondhand bookstore in Kobe. They display many posters of old films.

When the SD40-2 was king! CPR had 500+ of their own before they started buying secondhand units like the former Norfolk Southern running fourth here. Then there were the many leased units that were running on CPR in the '90s like the former UP unit behind the leader.
This was a nice spot to catch morning northbound trains on the MacTier Sub as they swung to the east just before arriving at Palgrave.

Emmaus_Great place for secondhand anything!
One of the easiest hills to get back to the upper city on a bike, or walking for that matter. Hilly here!!!

Arms available on request, according to the owner. He also told me that the one on the left had rather more realistic protrusions so he thought he should cover her up with this apron. I didn't check.
Stamped October 1973. Possibly Alaska... I've seen a legal case on the web which referred to a processing ship called the Northgate operating in Alaska.
Stamped February 1963. Probably London; the batch of slides this was in has seven other London slides with the same date stamp.
I am very impressed with the dynamic range of my new (secondhand) A7iii, and the resultant details in the dark areas.
The previous image is a crop of this one with very different tone settings. (Lightroom)
When the Lehigh Valley was dissolved in 1976, its fleet of Alco C420’s was conveyed to the Delaware & Hudson, where it remained intact for over a decade. On the D&H, the fleet’s paint remained as varied and inconsistent as it was on the Valley. A few of the C420’s were repainted with the classic lightning stripe scheme, which they wore well.
Stamped June 1962. Cars have Ohio license plates. "Frankie's Canned Foods"? Nothing on the search engines, nor a "Frankie's" with that logo.

In this shot, I focus stacked four images to create sharpness through to the fourth frame. The lighting is slightly different from the shot of the prior evening which was taken with a secondhand tilt-shift lens.
Interested in your comments about which is preferred.

I bought this slide as part of a lot on eBay, and I think it's golden. I completely understand how people need to downsize and trim and get rid of their slides or their parents' stuff, but oh how this shot sparks the imagination. Look at all the faces: what did the photographer do to provoke them?
