Four secondhand Leyland Nationals were acquired by Yorkshire Traction from Go-Ahead Northern during 1992. 424 (CPT 636S) was still in its previous owners livery albeit with Yorkshire Traction fleetnames when photographed in the bus station at Barnsley on April 3rd 1993.
Eastbourne Buses went through a phase of purchasing secondhand vehicles. Seen here in the centre of town on March 12th 1991 is 29 (NNO 62P) one of a pair of ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R acquired in two months earlier.
No date/location info. Amazed that the photog cut that guy on the right off, with all that dead space on the left; but maybe a better version was kept.
Vintage garments in Hastings Old Town. At least they are being honest by saying Secondhand - and non of this Pre-Loved Clothes nonsense you come across now.
Spot the colour theme in today’s three!
The Cheltenham & Gloucester group of companies were keen purchasers of secondhand double deckers following privatisation in 1986. Towards the end of 1987 a half dozen former Devon General Bristol VRs arrived. 5624 (VOD 598S) carrying Swindon & District fleetnames was seen at the 1992 Bristol Festival of Transport which was held at Hengrove Park, Whitchurch on August 16th 1992.
This Dennis Trident came to Brighton & Hove via Stagecoach with the Lewes based operations, T669KPU is pictured travelling through Old Steine.
With all these secondhand Enviros arriving and lockdown, its been difficult to keep up, however managed to catch 73 today on the 6 between the Town Centre and the Hospital. The 6 used to be very busy with DD on all journeys, but now is a shadow of its former self running every 20 minutes with saloons on weekends. 73 is usually found in deepest Essex, so quite nice to get it on a town route.
The Cobham Bus Museum open day and bus rally held in April 1987 included a gathering in Cobham village. Among the participating buses and coaches was London Country (South West) Leyland Atlantean / Northern Counties H43/32F AN360 BNE752N. This bus was one of a large number of acquired Atlanteans that entered the London Country fleets in 1986/7. BNE752N came from Greater Manchester PTE.
In the early 1990s Merseybus bought numerous secondhand buses, especially from London Buses, these were mainly Leyland Titans but there were also a number of M.C.W. Metrobuses as well. A trio of ex-London vehicles still in their former owner's livery are pictured at Gillmoss depot in summer 1994, the being Metrobus 3026, WYW 26 T flanked by Park Royal bodied Titans 2200, CUL 200 V (left) & 2145, CUL 145 V (right). The Metrobus was numbered M26 in the London Buses fleet and returned to the Capital after sale by Merseybus, being operated for a single season by London Pride (#270) in partial open top format before being scrapped. Titans 2145 & 2200 were numbered T145 & T200 in the London Buses fleet and remained in service with Merseybus for the rest of their lives before being sold for scrap.
New in April 2016 to Express Motors, Penygroes - TrawsCymru liveried T2 branded Optare Versa EM16 ORS from the Lloyds of Machynlleth flee sits in the centre of Dolgellau on July 5th 2021.
With Crossways over 80% step entrance and DDA next year, many buses have needed to be and still are being sourced (please flickrmail if you have any for sale). Devon express has helped us with this, and this batch of 6 2011 enviro 200 is just the latest to come from them. More B10M's will be for sale shortly that these will replace!

........And both from PTE fleets. GBB523K was a former Newcastle, later Tyne and Wear bus and TWH803K being new to Selnec [Northern] although it formed part of Bolton Corporations final order.
The fleet is Athelstan of Malmesbury.
When we think of secondhand coaches we usually think scruffy and it was sad to to see a beautiful once much prized Harrington Cavalier bodied AEC and Leyland in a distressed state or worse still being used as staff transport for the muddy boots of Wimpy. In this instance the situation is reversed as it's not such a good coach being a former NBC Shamrock and Rambler Bedford YRT Willowbrook Spacecar that has been returned to pristine condition by it's new owner Robin Hood. Maybe because of the time spent on it to keep it smart it was indeed a good one but like all Robin's Hoods it looked very smart at GEC Stychfields Hall in Stafford when pictured with a distinctive Plaxton Leyland of Creswell which I'm sure many of you will recognise as also being slightly unusual.

A touristy restaurant; they also had a violin player at the entrance and costumed dancers. Possibly Norway.
Fourteen ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R were acquired by Oxford Bus from Northern General, Gateshead in 1986/7. Withdrawal occurred between 1989 and 1992. Some went on for further use whilst others such as 982 (MPT 312P) went directly for scrap. On April 3rd 1993 it was awaiting its fate at Sykes yard in Carlton, South Yorkshire.

Bought recently in Seattle, when I just happened upon a place in Ballard that was selling off a bunch of vintage fabrics from the collection of a woman who was a dressmaker for musicians in the 60's and 70's. Oh, how I wish I'd picked up some of the other prints and woolens!!!
This one is a medium weight, almost canvas-like cotton. It will probably become something for the boys' rooms. Pillow covers?
Second Hand Treasures Thrift Shop is located near downtown Elizabethton, Tennessee.
We visited this thrift shop today. We bought kids books, a few dolls, ballet leotard for whichever child can wear it, and a few other small things.
The song "Sign, sign, everywhere a sign" played out in my head while I shopped. There are signs everywhere. Messages like "PRICES FIRM! THIS IS NOT A GARAGE SALE!" and "SMILE CAMERAS ARE WATCHING YOU!" as well as an over abundance of price signs indicating what color tag equals what price.
The signs made this thrift shop the Salvation Army's evil twin.
As a price comparison, they were asking $5 for a "new" kids book and .25 for a dressed Barbie. We bought a couple of Barbies and left the "new" books.
