This was the cover of a book I created as an initial thesis proposal. The book mostly contained images and a small summary about what I was interested in investigating (in a nutshell: secondhand selling/buying on the 'net) for my design thesis next year. I'll post a spread so that anyone who wants to read that, can. Feedback is very welcome.

Sorry about my absence, and not being able to finish the series on my dog as of now, my old laptop decided that it wanted to retire so I lost a bunch of my old photos. Fortunately, I will be able to save the hard drive and hopefully be able to get my work from it, and I got a new laptop which is also pretty great.

Anyway, we went downtown this weekend and watched this little skater in training throwing down some pretty cool moves, it was great to see so much passion in someone so young.

While exploring the Land of Sunshine area in Brunswick I was lucky to find this truck parked covered in graffiti amongst the street art. The area has a huge collection of wonderful street art all in the one area.

Two vehicles parked outside the Tees depot at Loftus in April 1993, now since closed.

Bristol LH 1929 KHY431P had originated at Bristol Omnibus but lasted only 6 years before disposal. It passed into non-PCV use but was bought by TMS when they scanned the country for any LHs that could be used on their competitive forays. It passed with the business to Caldaire, and hence into TMS dark blue but later was one of a number that passed to Tees and gained their livery relatively late in life.

Meanwhile, Leyland National 3741 NAT199V was one of the first of a number purchased to help replace thirsty and unreliable Mk1 Nationals. It started life with East Yorkshire as 199 and was sold to Caldaire as EYMS looked to buy more deckers. It had a short life with Midland Red South after disposal.

Alaska... Stamped January, 1973

Following the AVE trials as previously mentioned, London standardised on the Olympian for its future deliveries. However the three Volvo Ailsas must have impressed as a good number were aquired on the secondhand market. Firstly a small number arrived from the South Yorkshire PTE with rare Vanhool McArdle bodywork and these were then followed by the full batch of fifty Alexander bodied specimens that had been withdrawn by the West Midlands PTE following deregulation. Whilst some carried full LBL livery, the rest were painted in the red and cream livery for the new Harrow Buses unit that was set up in the late 1980s by London Buses and V62 shows off the look in this 1988 view.

Two years previously it was still serving the people of Brum as seen here

I am a big fan of prints, and many of my thrifted clothes have great ones.

Yorkshire Rider Huddersfield MCW Metrorider 2034 heads out of Oldham town centre bound for Diggle on a wet Sunday in 1994. Ironically members of this batch of vehicles were working in this area having been purchased secondhand by GM Buses North.

........And both from PTE fleets. GBB523K was a former Newcastle, later Tyne and Wear bus and TWH803K being new to Selnec [Northern] although it formed part of Bolton Corporations final order.
