Fourteen ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R were acquired by Oxford Bus from Northern General, Gateshead in 1986/7. Withdrawal occurred between 1989 and 1992. Some went on for further use whilst others such as 982 (MPT 312P) went directly for scrap. On April 3rd 1993 it was awaiting its fate at Sykes yard in Carlton, South Yorkshire.

Emsworth & District yard with various secondhand Dennis Darts that started life with London Buses, Metroline, Bournemouth Yellow Buses & Stagecoach, with two Leyland Swift's with Reeve Burgess Body Work, all of these are still in service.
Bought recently in Seattle, when I just happened upon a place in Ballard that was selling off a bunch of vintage fabrics from the collection of a woman who was a dressmaker for musicians in the 60's and 70's. Oh, how I wish I'd picked up some of the other prints and woolens!!!
This one is a medium weight, almost canvas-like cotton. It will probably become something for the boys' rooms. Pillow covers?

Second Hand Treasures Thrift Shop is located near downtown Elizabethton, Tennessee.
We visited this thrift shop today. We bought kids books, a few dolls, ballet leotard for whichever child can wear it, and a few other small things.
The song "Sign, sign, everywhere a sign" played out in my head while I shopped. There are signs everywhere. Messages like "PRICES FIRM! THIS IS NOT A GARAGE SALE!" and "SMILE CAMERAS ARE WATCHING YOU!" as well as an over abundance of price signs indicating what color tag equals what price.
The signs made this thrift shop the Salvation Army's evil twin.
As a price comparison, they were asking $5 for a "new" kids book and .25 for a dressed Barbie. We bought a couple of Barbies and left the "new" books.

A visit to Powell's main store. The technical ans science books are now all consolidated here, rather than in a separate store. A sign of the times, however, Powell's still seems to be doing a thriving business.

Second-hand is the way to go. I enjoy shopping in thrift or consignment stores so much more than traditional retail.
I was well on my way to a 100% second-hand outfit and then I had to go and spoil it with this feather pendant, from Urban Outfitters. It is old, though, from July 2009, so can I pretend it’s vintage?

A tour group heads into a restaurant in Norway. In other slides there are dancers in traditional dress.
The historian-photographer can make a real contribution to the history of any area by taking photos like this--the inside of an important business. For example, this building is gone now, torn down for the Sterling Apartment complex. The photo is part of the history of a bygone era and area. Originally, it was just a grab shot by an amateur photographer.

I don't know what to think of it, it sounds like a really strange job.
But I'm sick of my current job in an office, where no matter how decent I dress (like on the picture, that was today), some of my colleges keep making advances.
So I applied for the museumjob. I hope they'll invite me.

The first outing in my new cowboy booties, they are sooper comfy and fit me perfectly.. but i got blisters on the bottom of my feet>? i havent had this before, maybe it is the angle of the heel im not used too.hope this gets better as these are gonna be my essential walking boots in the cold weather of europe when i head there in 2 weeks!
There's a Triple A (American Automobile Association) medallion on the front bumper... I wonder when they switched to window decals?

at my parents home in Albany West Aust.
The small village of Spath, near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, was the base for the well known independent bus and coach operator, Stevensons. Like many such operators, it relied heavily on secondhand and often elderly vehicles. In March 1972, the fleet included GAY170, a 1950 Leyland Tiger PS1/1 with Willowbrook DP35F body. It joined Stevensons in June 1963 from Preston of Mountsorrell in Leicestershire. When new, the bus was typical of vehicles being delivered to many operators at the time, including several in the BET Group, but was destined to become quickly obsolescent, as newly introduced underfloor engined models became increasingly popular.
