Sally gifted her sister with this sampler afghan. It's made of six different patterns of 10 inch squares of Patons Canadiana and another six of Patons Candiana Colours (the variegated yarn). The knit edging is applied I-cord.

Careful. You can lose hours by browsing through the three stories of antiques and knick knacks at the Antique Sampler Mall.
Leaving without a truck of stuff is a sign of unbelieveable strength and tenacity. The U.S. Army is looking for more people like you.

Taken from the skills builder sampler quilt a long the tutorial for this bow tie block can be found here: sewnbyleila.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/block-6-bow-ties.html
Back: Eggplant Tapende (eggplants, garlic, tomatoes)
Left: Spicy Walnut Pepper Spread (fire roasted peppers, walnuts, oil, garlic, parsley)
Right: Red Pepper Spread (roasted red peppers, olive oil, garlic)
Front: Beet Skordalia (baked beets, garlic, herbs, and spices)
These were SO GOOD. Eggplant was the least flavorful. Everything else was...flavorful. Surprisingly so. For four choices we picked a good spread of flavors (crunchy, spicy, sweet, mushy, blah blah). Uber-colorful. It made me feel like I was eating something healthy...on top of lots and lots of warm pita bread.
A knitting sampler, knitted last night and about to be frogged. I used the yarn that I got from the Biggan Dups class on Continental Knitting at the iKnit Weekender. It is DK weight 100% Australian Merino Wool and a delight to knit with. All of this stitch patterns were worked from "400 Knitting Stitches: Great Stitch Patterns" (Murdoch Books) - except the "heel stitch" which I found on www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/525 - and the stitch names and page numbers can be seen in the 'notes' as you hover over the photos on their flickr page.
Finished! I had a hard time taking nice photos of it, but these will do. Maybe when the weather finally dries out, I'll try a few outside.
