And since when is tree bark considered an "herb"?
ANYway, I really like the lemon and wild berry zingers and the peppermint is ok. Have tried the other 2.

Today we took The General and The Gopher to Princeton for a celebratory luncheon at Triumph. We quaffed beer samplers and toasted all of life's recent successes.

Big Apple Pizza Restaurant's Sampler: five garlic knots, three mozzarella sticks, and chicken wings with choice of flavor. I chose BBQ. I also took one mozzarella stick before taking the photo. I was sorta hungry.
a cupcake sampler. i emailed a food writer and before i knew it she wants to try out my cupcakes. eep. now i'm scared. wish me luck.

I purchased a sampler panel of French General La Petite Ecole. I cut each of the samplers out and then added some ric-rac, backed them with a light pink fabric, then strung them on some double-fold bais binding to make a bunting for my little girl. I think it looks lovley hanging above her closet and she loves having all of her letters displayed.
It's been a looooong time (20yrs +) since I really did any embroidery so I'm reminding myself how it works...

Rather than making a book with attached pages, I am leaving the samplers like a deck of cards. I put two samples back to back and sewed them together.
While considering how to compile them, I came across a napkin holder in my stash of vintage textiles. Seemed perfect to protect and contain my samples. So I stitched the title and my name on it. Still need to sew the last sides together and remove basting threads. Then I will make a video to share.
TAST sampler so far - top to bottom, it's fly stitch, buttonhole stitch, feather stitch, open cretan stitch, and the leaves in the last row are supposed to be closed cretan stitch, but I'm not convinced I did it right.
