A beautiful façade of a launderette in Pearse Street, Dublin. The site has a planning permission so we won't see it for long. Thought it would be a good idea to capture before it's too late.

Same place, maybe same individual, as last year

Same spot... yet few minutes earlier

Different people, different meaning.

Same recipe as spinach lasagna, a bit less generic.

Same location, at the end of the deck, with a single exposure of the early sunrise, dead sensor pixels, slight slope left to right, and all. I should have whipped out the green cube bubble level. 2 min 45 second exposure.

It looks better if you click on the picture.

My great grandmother's wedding picture with her parents picture in the frame in the background. The original photo of Nettie had been taken outside, though she still was beside the chair. The chair remains in the family.

Day 312/365

Mexico is full of great colors and I loved the variety of window shapes on some buildings. Would love to know how these different windows were reflected inside, so close together but in different rooms? Or on the same wall in a room??

Yes, more from Puebla, one day I'll see my Macbook again, I hope... Until then, deep exploration of one folder.. unless I get really bored, or someone writes me a suicide note begging me to stop. ;-)

Same trees different view

So here's the same mountain as my other Banff shots. I just took the shot much closer to the water. I think I might have not even used a tripod for this one. I set my camera down on some rocks. I put my trust into this rock to not move while my camera was taking the shot. If it did move, my camera would probably fall into the water and I would freak out.

3 exposures blended the same way as the last two.

Same squirrel...just closer.

I was tagged for a third time. I must be an easy mark. This time, it was by flickr.com/photos/sprout512/.

I need to list nine more facts about me. I never really like to write the same things twice, so here are nine new random facts.

1) I learned to garden as a child, and still enjoy it. Even as the temperatures hover below freezing, I am already planning yard projects for 2009.

2) I enjoy nature's beauty so I have several bird feeders in my yard. They have been neglected in recent weeks because I have not been able to get around the yard as easily as I normally would in the winter. The squirrels miss me.

3) I have always maintained vivid details of the acts of kindness I have been blessed with in my life. The people involved are remembered fondly in my prayers.

4) While I hate predatory behavior, I am also not a fan of weakness. I figure that a person thrown a life preserver needs to struggle with the last strength from their dislocated shoulders to pull themselves toward rescue.

5) I believe women need to be treated well. They should not be thrust into the roll of providers for men who refuse to provide for themselves. Dutch will always be a language and not a way of financing a social liason for an evening.

6) I have learned to understand pain. It can be something that occurs instantly. It can also be something that gradually worsens over time. For me, there was a fix. The result has removed some concerns I had about growing older. After a major reconstruction on my knee, I am on my way to more mobility than I have had in years. My surgeon has skills, and God has blessed me.

7) I love old movies. Perhaps it is a combination of the acting, the writing and the directing. Some of the old, classic films captured the mindsets of those who helped raise me. The so-called "Best Generation" was into morality plays and as such, they often nodded approval to cliche' expressions of values capsulized in lines or scenes of their favorite movies. Iam old enough where some of that rubbed off on me. People who know me will understand that. Those who don't may know the line "Iyamwhatyam."

8) My working life has given me an understanding of politics and world affairs that will seem cynical to many. Yet, it has also allowed me to approach current events as a realist. It is not a view that is without hope, yet it is a perspective that understands that even with progress there is pain. With that in mind, I am hoping the nation can avoid the easy route of not saying "the president, f-him" by Independence Day. Too many of us slept during Social Studies classes to recall that great changes did not produce positive results overnight.

9) I will never understand absolutes. If one cannot deliver everything, than choosing to deliver nothing represents a lapse of faith. Wishing you had the power to solve a problem, and failing to act to help solve the problem (even a little bit) is a cop out.

(Now, I was supposed to name nine people I want to know a but more about. While I could do that, I figure folks volunteer what they choose. So, I'll reserve that for now and maybe tag folks when I'm more up to it. (LIke I said, this is the third time I've been tagged))
