Lil Wayne and Same Ol 2 Step at the first annual Creole Renaissance Festival, Yambilee Building, Opelousas, Sept. 1, 2012
I am late posting this, as it was 2 weeks ago and late August when I took this picture. It was a hot and humid summer morning. The beans are fully ripe now, and the tallest I’ve ever seen them. We had lots of rain in June and July, and they grew like crazy. A lot of the crops in Indiana suffered from too much rain, but this field is doing great.
Inspired by one of the 52 Weeks in 2015 challenges, I have decided to take pictures of this same spot throughout the year. The 52 Weeks challenge is to take a picture of the same spot 4 different times throughout the year, during designated weeks. I decided to turn it into my own personal project and take a picture of this same scene at least once a month for 2015. The idea is to show the changes in different seasons and types of weather. Since it is a farm field, it will also be showing the progression of the planting, growth and harvesting of the crops. It will be soybeans this year. Progression can be seen in my album “Same Spot 2015.”

...same bird as in preceding photo photographed from a different angle.
Cooper's Hawk is a medium-sized hawk native to North America, found from Canada across the United States south to Mexico. As with many birds of prey, the male is smaller than the female and birds found east of the Mississippi River tend to be larger on average than the birds to the west.
It's a member of the goshawk genus Accipiter. The bird was named after naturalist William Cooper, one of the founders of the New York Lyceum of Natural History (later the New York Academy of Sciences) in New York. Other common names include Big Blue Darter, Chicken Hawk, Hen Hawk, Mexican Hawk, Quail Hawk, Striker and Swift Hawk.
The breeding range of the Cooper's Hawk extends from southern Canada to northern Mexico. They are generally distributed more to the South than the other North American Accipiters. Birds from most of the Canadian and northern-U.S.-range migrate in winter, and some Cooper's Hawks winter as far south as Panama. The Cooper's Hawk prefers to nest in wooded areas adjacent to wide open fields that provide hunting opportunities along the edges.
Cooper's Hawks capture prey from cover or while flying quickly through dense vegetation, relying almost totally on surprise. Most prey are mid-sized birds, with typical prey including American Robins, jays, woodpeckers, European Starlings, and doves. Cooper's Hawks also eat small mammals, especially rodents such as chipmunks and tree squirrels. Other possibilities are lizards, frogs, snakes, and large insects. They are increasingly seen hunting small songbirds in backyards with feeders and birdbaths. They will perch in trees overlooking the feeders, then swoop down and scatter the birds in order to capture one in flight.

Same goose as my last two goose shots...just a different frame in a high speed burst of shots. If you grab focus in the first shot and continue panning and firing the shutter, usually the entire sequence comes out.
But different : Anicca : decay is inherent in all things : Impermanence (Sanskrit: अनित्य anitya; Pāli: अिनच्च anicca; Tibetan: mi rtag pa; Chinese: 無常 wúcháng; Japanese: 無常 mujō
Central to Buddhist teaching is the idea that all things are impermanent. This is the nature of all conditioned phenomena. Nothing lasts, nothing stays the same. Thus, to cling to anything will inevitably lead to suffering (dukkha). (Large On Black)

Went to the Oakland zoo with kids and Ma today. Wife stayed home, taking a break from us all. Took a lot of pictures. The zoo is much better than the one in San Francisco: the animals don't look bored and dull, they have more space and generally it doesn't feel as depdessing.
Again, I shot a ton of pictures, but this one strikes me as the keeper, although technically it's far from perfection. As I look at it, I can't help but remember the song.
You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
You may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
You may ask yourself: well... how did I get here?

Musically Challenged: Talking heads - Once in a Lifetime.
The road, the river, and the walkway all lead to the same direction. I like the lines, the buildings and the blue skies.

Same place...different day.
First upload of a hipstamatic photo from the iPhone 4. It took me three attempts to do this on the 3G network...yay.
Same hiking at Hilton Falls. It was a foggy day. Main trail to the falls was busy, but quiet off the beaten path.
The bottom of the stairs. This picture was taken at the same location of the previous one - just panning downward.
Several words popped up in my mind when I saw this photo on the wall ...

On November 5th, 2008, Proposition 8 was passed by California voters by a margin of 52.5% vs 47.5%. Following the passing of the proposition, many California counties have stopped issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples. As a result wide-spread protests have been documented across the state - San Francisco experiencing one of the largest on November 7th, 2008 as protesters took to the street.

The world seems not the same
Though I know nothing has changed
It's all my state of mind
I can't leave it all behind
Have to stand up to be stronger
Have to try
To break free
From the thoughts in my mind
Use the time that I have
I can say goodbye
Have to make it right
Have to find
‘Cause I know in the end it's worth while
That the pain that I feel slowly fades away
It will be all right
I know
I should realize
Time is precious
It is worth while
Despite how I feel inside
Have to trust it’ll be alright
Have to stand up to be stronger ...
