I have been shooting a number of photos at this construction site lately. It's the new biofuel power plant that Vattenfall is building in Jordbro.
Adult (was hoping this was going to be a Dipper!) Otter Lake, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, AK
One of two pairs of Rusty Blackbirds at Dowitcher Lake this year. This pair was kept busy feeding 4 or 5 young. This species has declined markedly across North America, especially the eastern half, so it is nice to see them keeping a toehold in this part of the world. Focus is a bit off on this one. Taken June 20, 2009.
I have only recently become aware of an apparent long time practice of couples expressing there devotion to each other by locking a lock or pair of locks to some permanent object like this bridge railing on the Harmar rail and foot bridge. This has become a pretty popular practice here with scores of these locks on the railing of the bridge. Here are just a few samples.
Proof that although devotion may never fade it apparently does become a little rusty with time LOL.
We are working on the last section of floors to sand downstairs (we'll tile the kitchen) Tomorrow they'll be ebony like the printshop. Walls will be rusty red.
