Trying to come up with a title for this one-ok, I'm seeing lots of rust in the comments, so I'll keep the title simple-but who knows, it may change again!

Taken at the bird blind, through the fence. One was in a tree to the left and one was at the waters edge. Not the greatest background, but who cares.
The North American Breeding Bird Survey and Christmas Bird Count have determined that Rusty Blackbirds have dropped 85%-98% in the past 40 years. Maybe they are making a come back.
They have been documented feeding on sparrows, robins, and snipe, among others.
I only had this partial truck, so I decided to go with this rusty tractor for HTT. I thought it was neat because it has a roll cage. The farmer must have wanted to be a race car driver.

Somehow these dolerite rocks remind me of the sort that Leonardo Da Vinci included in his paintings like "The Virgin of the Rocks". www.nationalgallery.org.uk/paintings/leonardo-da-vinci-th...
Of course that rusty look isn't there in those paintings, as these orange lichens are mostly found in Tasmania, which was completely unknown to the outside world in the 15th century.
Rusty Blackbirds breed primarily in the boreal regions of Canada and Alaska but winter in the southeastern United States. They pass through New York State during spring and fall migration where they are usually seen in wooded wetland. There have been precipitous declines in the population of this species for reasons that are unclear.
