Enjoying a trip to Carburn Park in October.
The Rusty Blackbirds were a highlight for me!
Thanks for your visits and comments. They are all greatly appreciated!
... daffodils are toxic to pets. Chemicals in the plant may lead to vomiting, diarrhea and excess salivation. . Daffodils can also cause convulsions, tremors, cardiac arrhythmia and low blood pressure. The largest concentration of toxins is in daffodil bulbs, so pets need to be kept away from fresh plantings. Pets may also become sick if they drink the water that daffodils stand in.
Scotch and Drambuie
A rusty nail is a cocktail made by mixing Scotch whisky with Drambuie in a ratio ranging from 1:1 to 2:1. It is typically served on the rocks in an old-fashioned glass (also known as a rocks glass), though it can be served "up" in a stemmed glass. The cocktail's origin goes back to the 1937 British Industries Fair, but it gained widespread popularity in the 1950s after being endorsed by New York's 21 Club. Its prominence grew further a decade later when it became the go-to cocktail of the Rat Pack.-

Took a long time, but I finally found a rusty flower. I think it's a hotncoldus flower.
Cool. This shot hit Explore on February 28, 2010.
Another shot of the rusty, iron gate within the grounds of Lauriston Castle.
While I've taken and posted a couple of other shots of this detail of the gate, today I wanted the out-of-focus background to reflect the autumnal colours that abound in the grounds of this lovely, old house.
I was also very impressed with the image stabilisation of my humble Olympus OM-D 10 II; this image was taken hand-held at the 300 mm (600 mm equivalent) end of the lens at just 1/30s!
and catching my balance.
Just a quick snap at an amazingly quiet place that a friend introduced me to. Some peace and quiet. Exactly what I need.

Taken at The Rusty Nail
We found this rusty fence during a walk in the Lake District in 2008. It was a wonderful holiday though we had lots of rain.
At least I think so...
I had the pleasure of house-sitting and caring for two pups and a guinea pig (Patches) over the weekend...The dogs were great; Patches hates me! lol

I spotted this on the 13th, but thought it was more appropriate for Valentines Day, so had to drive back out on the 14th :))
Telephoto image through the legs of the old Kinzua Viaduct. Up above here is a platform built for visitors to walk out onto what’s left of what was once the tallest railroad bridge in the world.
Engineering note: This bridge was built of cast iron in 1882 and entirely rebuilt with steel in 1900, in the era where trains were getting a lot heavier. It went out of service in 1959.
The 100 Bicycles project: 100 different bicycles photographed in detail. This is bicycle number #15.

When the theme came up I instantly remembered a much okder shot of a nut from these tracks running close to my home but wanted to take a newer shot.
The tracks were used for normal train traffic back in th days but have been shut down for years now. Now they are re-opened for occasional traffic in order to transport goods. Check Hunsrückbahn for more details in case you like to know more. The old photo of another nut is the coverphoto of my album Macro Monday.

The "lookalikes": this series of posts will highlight some of several medium-sized, kiskadee-like flycatchers of the Pantanal. The rusty-margined flycatcher (Myiozetetes cayanensis) is a species in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. This aptly name bird is the smallest, and we found is buzzing around over the river surface darting off after insects from fallen logs in the current.
