I felt like giving this image a grungy look. It wasn't the easiest of images to grunge up, as it was very bright, with lots of strong colours etc. I'll probably work on it again, try different things.

Another in my series of unusual letterboxes, this one was on the Storm King Dam road outside Stanthorpe, Queensland.

I knew Rusty when he was a kid! Nah, who's kidding now? I just kind of liked this old tap with its rusty holes and Mudzilla, the giant mud crab. Somewhere near the beach around Brisbane!

Rusty Old Barn

On the outskirts of Leahills there are a couple of old barns, I've had my eye on this one for the last year waiting for a bit of snow on the ground. It was hard to get a compostion I was happy with, so will probably end up posting a couple of different views of it.

Still very sturdy and made to last but it's seen better days. I wonder who has tied their boat to this over the years.

Couldn't get close to the feeding Rusty Blackbirds....but could see they were eating worms.

I just thought a rusty old car with the backgound of new vibrant forsythia was cool.

This Rusty Blackbird (Euphagus carolinus) was all alone in Magee Marsh, Ohio USA. Many wildlife and conservation organizations are concerned about Rusty Blackbirds, citing a continuous decline in their population, an estimated 80-90% decline over the last 50 years.

Though most his cousins had most likely already migrated Northward, his solitary appearance tells us what it would be like to view the last of his kind.

Happily this sighting is my Life Bird Photograph #182.

I enjoy how something so simple, like an old rusty wheel, can have so much character.
